More wandering around my old photographic haunts in the early spring back east, in the heart of the Village aka Greenwich Village in Manhattan on MacDougal Street where many years ago before I was born, a young senator from Massachusetts named John Fitzgerald Kennedy kicked off what would be a successful presidential bid right on this very street. The neon lights of Off the Wall Bar and Grill and the famous delicious Artichoke Pizza both survivors of the COVID-19 pandemic, sadly many businesses here and in much of the city did not fare as well. The Village where I look to take the pulse of NYC and not happy with what I see. Activity had almost returned to pre-pandemic I guess, but much graffiti strewn throughout the neighborhood, some hastily painted over tell a different tale. Not loving the vibe of my beloved NYC, no we’re not back in the 1980’s but something’s amiss here in the USA’s biggest city…….
