If you’ve ever found yourself in the addicting rabbit hole that is perfume content on Instagram or TikTok, you’ve likely stumbled across the term “gourmand.” Usually, it appears in the context of someone sitting in front of their camera recounting a story about how they were chased down on the street by a passerby demanding to know what fragrance they are wearing.
Gourmands have garnered a reputation for being instant compliment-getters that have everyone in your vicinity thinking you’re the best-smelling person in the room. And with the colder months officially upon us, it’s the perfect time to dabble in the gourmand perfume trend. Below, we dive into what gourmand perfumes are, what notes are trending, and the best ones to spend your hard-earned cash on.

What Are Gourmand Perfumes?
Gourmand perfumes are fragrances that have sweet, “edible” notes. Most commonly, that means rich notes like vanilla, caramel, and honey. But they can also include other edible notes like cherry or strawberry for a fruity, sweet fragrance. According to Kayvan Mashhadi, Brand Relationship Manager at Scent Split, there are multiple reasons why gourmands are trending right now. “Gourmand perfumes are easy-going, immediately lovable, positive in energy, and mood-elevating,” he said. “They also have extending longevity and good projection on the skin.”
While gourmand perfumes aren’t necessarily new, they are evolving in 2025. “While back in 2020, for example, they were heavy, ultra-sweet, cold-season perfumes, today we have more detailed sub-categories of gourmand perfumes, spanning from fresh fruity, to patisserie, to creamy lactonic, and powdery florals,” Mashhadi said. Shaylin Sajjadi, Affiliate Marketing Manager at Scent Split, has also noticed a comeback in notes like strawberry, cocoa, and milk. “These notes bring a sense of warmth and intimacy that today’s fragrance lovers are really drawn to,” Sajjadi said.

The Best Gourmand Fragrances to Shop Now
Notes: Sugar Crystals, Cashmere Wood, Vanilla
Vanilla Skin is the perfect fragrance for someone who wants to smell sweet but not like a literal baked good. The warm, second-skin-like notes in this fragrance balance out the vanilla for an alluring, surprisingly subtle gourmand.
Notes: Orange, Meringue, Baked Butter Cookie
Oh My Gourmand is exactly what the name would have you believe: A gourmand so well done that it will have you texting all your friends an “OMG” after your first sniff. It opens with zesty orange, grapefruit, and red currant notes and dries down to a buttery, rich vanilla scent that smells like a bakery in a bottle.
Notes: Pure Vanilla, Cotton Candy, Coconut Milk
This perfume makes it feel like you’re eating cotton candy on a boardwalk, basking in the sunshine by the ocean—even in the dead of winter. It’s nostalgic, sweet, and super wearable.
Notes: Cherry, Almond, Vanilla
If you love Tom Ford Lost Cherry but aren’t as big a fan of the price tag, this Dossier perfume inspired by it is the fragrance for you. It’s sweet, spicy, and signature-scent worthy.
Notes: Orange Blossom, Roasted Pistachio, Baklava
If you’ve ever had baklava, you know the syrupy sweetness is absolutely delicious. That same nutty, rich, buttery quality is what makes Beirut Baklava such a favorite.
Notes: Strawberry, Pink Marshmallow, Whipped Vanilla
If you want a sweet gourmand perfume with a fruity, sparkling quality, it doesn’t get better than Yum Boujee Marshmallow. It’s a crowd-pleasing scent that will have everyone asking what you’re wearing.
Notes: Whipped Cream, Ice Cream, Waffle Cone
When you’re eating ice cream, you may not be thinking that’s what you want to smell like, but once you catch a whiff of Lick Me, that’s exactly what you’ll want every time you grab a cone. It’s the perfect winter gourmand for anyone with a sweet tooth.
Notes: Caramel, Whipped Coconut, Milky Musks
Sometimes, in colder weather, you want something that’s just as warm and spicy as it is sweet. Queens Caramel balances its gourmand notes with salt and musk for a well-rounded treat of a scent.
Notes: Vanilla Buttercream Icing, Maple Caramel Crème, Tonka Bean
This fragrance is honestly the ultimate gourmand in my book. Despite smelling like a fresh piece of cake, it still manages to have a light, woody quality that makes it such a versatile perfume.
Notes: Mango Juice, Bourbon Vanilla, Gold Amber
Gourmand perfumes don’t have to be just one note. Narcotica may be a vanilla scent, but with the addition of mango, green matcha absolute, and white flowers, it’s a complex fragrance unlike anything else you’ve smelled.
Notes: Croissant Accord, Wild Berry Jam, Toasted Vanilla
Just reading the scent description for Crumb Couture is enough to make you hungry. It’s decadent, buttery, and endlessly delicious.
Notes: Bergamot, Caramel Cream, Sandalwood
If you think that body mists don’t last, you’ve clearly never tried one from Phlur. This fragrance balances decadence with a fresh, woody twist that will have you spraying it nonstop.
Notes: Wild Cherry, Turkish Rose, Almond Amaretto
If you see a rose note and immediately think of your grandma, Not Another Cherry will show you just how delicious rose can smell when done right. Here, it helps create an insanely good, rich cherry scent.
Notes: Marshmallow, Vanilla Bean, Sweet Rice Milk
Mochi Milk is the ideal perfume for someone who wants to smell subtly sweet without leaning too literal. It’s not a realistic bakery scent like some gourmands, but rather a decadent twist on vanilla that I can’t get enough of.
