Whilst crossing over the narrow road bridge just below Northwood tube station today, I thought I would take a look to see if any ex Metropolitan "A" Stock were being loaded onto a lowloader (Alleys I think it usually is), for their final journey. No condemned stock, but a German registered M.A.N. articulated "rail grinder" machine was spotted in the sidings instead….something I’ve never seen before !
The small red disc on the rear states "This train must not be moved".
Note how the tractor unit appears to be off the rails, also the elderly shunter/tractor at the top of the yard waiting for employment.
