Copycat Cheddars Honey Butter Croissants

If you’ve ever been to Cheddars Scratch Kitchen, you know their honey butter croissants are a must-have! These warm, flaky croissants are drizzled with sweet honey butter, making them the perfect appetizer or side dish. With this easy 3 ingredient copycat recipe, you can recreate them at home in just a few simple steps! And I’ll even show you how to make a gluten free croissant version!

These delicious honey butter croissants taste amazing when paired with some chicken and vegetables. I’m excited too because due to some health issues, I eat gluten free while my family doesn’t. I found a way that I can even enjoy this recipe too! And if you’re worried about having leftovers (which probably won’t happen) but if it did you could use any leftover croissants to make croissant French toast.

Substitutions

Everyone should be able to enjoy this recipe! Here are some easy substitutions you can make:

  • Gluten free: I found some amazing tasting gluten free croissants that I love! They even sell them at my local grocery store.
  • Vegan: You can use some plant based croissants. You will also want to substitute a plant based butter and agave for the honey.
  • Dairy free: To make your recipe dairy free, substitute dairy free butter in place of the butter.

Variations

You can use frozen croissant dough. I have been able to find frozen mini croissants at Trader Joe’s in the past. Cook according to package directions then drizzle with the honey butter.

Equipment

You will need a bowl to melt the butter and a cookie sheet for baking.

Storage

Store leftover croissants in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Freezing: For longer storage, wrap croissants individually in plastic wrap and place them in a freezer-safe bag. They can be frozen for up to 2 months.

Reheating:

  • Oven: Warm at 300°F (150°C) for 5-7 minutes for the best texture.
  • Microwave: Heat in 10-15 second intervals until warm, though they may become softer.

Tip: If reheating, drizzle with fresh honey butter for the best flavor!
