
WhatsApp is bringing a handful of new features for the status and Channel sections that can boost small and mid-scale businesses. If you are someone who deals with clients and requires a perfect platform, then these features can play wonders for you!
The company has now introduced three unique ways to handle businesses on WhatsApp through Status and Channel features. The list includes Ads in Status, Channel Promotions, and Subscriptions that make the user experience easier.
Let’s understand these three features one by one!
- Channel Subscriptions: Support your favorite channel by subscribing to receive exclusive updates for a monthly fee.
- Promoted Channels: Admins now have a way to increase their Channel’s visibility. WhatsApp will help users discover new channels that might be interesting to them when they’re looking through the directory.
- Ads in Status: Users can find a new business and easily initiate a conversation with them about a product or service they’re promoting in Status.
Note that these features will reside in the Updates section, away from the personal chats tab. Simply put, it won’t affect the app experience for ordinary users.
Don’t worry about privacy as WhatsApp will use limited info like country or city name, language, the Channels you follow, and how you interact with ads. The features will soon be available to all users via a stable update.
