WhatsApp earlier enabled users to add an avatar on the profile photo area instead of their real picture. But now, the company is working on a new and interesting feature that will let you keep both your avatar and real image on the display picture.
An avatar for a WhatsApp profile photo is a personalized digital portrait of yourself. Users can use it as their display picture in the app. One can have fun with this animated character by styling their hair, clothes, facial features, and more.
Even though the feature is good, it might confuse users to choose between their most beautiful image and the animated avatar character. If you are a person who prefers privacy due to several unknown contacts in the app, the feature is good for you.
But if you are a social bug, then you might want both these snaps on the display picture. No worries, as WhatsApp will now enable users to use the avatar character alongside their real images on the profile picture segment.
The company is rolling out a new Android beta 2.25.18.14 version, which is bringing an “Avatar Profile Photo” feature to some testers via the Google Play Beta Program.

Earlier, the feature used to replace your actual profile image from the app. But now, you can keep both styled and real snaps in the app. The feature resides in the avatar settings. Choose a background color for your avatar as per your mood or style.

Now, pick the animated character and style it accordingly. Once done, the new avatar will start appearing alongside the real profile image in the app. When your contacts visit your profile, they will notice a coin effect showing your avatar and image.
The feature effect will be similar to the one we have on Instagram that shows two sides: user’s actual profile picture and the animated avatar.
