I wish pop music would go back to the early 2010’s EDM vibe. Clarity, Don’t You Worry Child, Feel So Close, those were such vibes and easily able to make you dance. The pop stuff now is just not the same. 😭
I don't think pop music is more simple than RnB or Rap or Rock it just does not have as specific of a cultural context surrounding it. Basically there's not a specific instrument or style that defines pop music.
(Some might argue that rock / rap / rnb and other genres like afrobeats are just different parts of pop music which is true)
