  4. I found this about 2 years ago and it has since become a staple for our household whenever it's cold or particularly when any of us are sick. I adore it and thank you so much for this. Also, since I've watched and followed this recipe so much I always chuckle a little about the way Glen says "I'm going to add Milk". I don't know why but it sounds so aggressive and brings a smile to my face. We appreciate you all

  8. Call me new to cooking, tea biscuits & dumplings, had to go through the comment section to understand if you meant it literally or if there was a different meaning. I've heard of adding soda crackers (biscuits substitute) or frozen dumplings which wouldn't be a bad thing I guess.

  10. This is basically the French mirepoix base for any soup or sauce. You can make this into a beef stew just by cooking the flour longer and browning it, dump half a bottle of red wine in it and sub the chicken for ox tail or beef chuck. Great recipe

  14. how long you cook the flour will also impact the colour of your final product. Let the roux cook longer, get a deeper colour and the stew/soup will be less washed out.

  16. The adding of the cream would mean that I would call it a chowder as opposed to a soup or stew. Regardless, it looks delish!

  21. Glenn, take the cream out and what you made is just Acadian fricot, savory included! Put in some potato dumplings instead of the edamame and you just made fricot. Right there.
