Inveterate cheater here. In my case, I cheated like crazy in Civilization so I could essentially turn on infinite money and play a sort of sandbox game. IV was the last time I could actually do that, but in VI (never played V) I did use the game settings deliberately to create the same effect and got a nice sprawling empire on the back of my own skill. (This also worked in the original Railroad Tycoon, so i was a bit disappointed in RRT 2 with the sandbox replaced by scenario based gameplay.)
I also used an insta-death command in Baldurs Gate 2 to…well, kill enemies in one keystroke so I could see what lay beyond the bits I couldn't pass through.
Nowadays I tend to play easy mode — story mode doesn't give me enough actual play, but easy gives me enough pew pew to feel a sense of control but not have too frustrating a time otherwise. I use walkthroughs only when I get stuck — like the other night in Borderlands Pre-Sequel trying to find a way in to the methane pumping station. The BLs games don't have difficulty settings and they can be a bit of a war of attrition, but it makes it all the sweeter when you actually find the right combination of weapons and other skillsets and down a boss after relatively few goes. (I have yet to progress very far playing a Siren, but lemme defeat the game with a gunslinger first and then I'll play it as it was meant to be played.)
So, yeah, mixed bag. Do I miss cheats? Yup. Do I think I'm actually better at games now I can't cheat? Also yup.

I've only found Caddicarus' videos recently, so I'm most used to seeing his current hairstyle. These old videos look like he photoshopped his face onto someone else's body.
How have I only just found your channel? I've been a big fan of JonTron, SpaceHammy, PBG for the longest time and I just kept rewatching their videos. I absolutely love their video format and having this to go to just makes me so much happier. Please keep making videos like this. Some cheats that were printed in magazines or book sometimes didnt work and only worked on the ntsc versions to games most sites are guilty of that as well
you forgot to mention that the exploding laura croft was actually a troll put in by devs they released the cheat as "Topless Laura cheat" in gaming mags that had hints and cheats sections.

I remember the cheat for TOCA Touring Cars where you could drive around in a tank and blow your opponents up! Hours of fun!
