as cd game console, no difference with recalbox/batocera/retrobat. no need this kind of hardware emulation because of burn disc and no extra feeling with. my legacy psx is only running games i own.
Would it work with a Japanese PSone ? I've heard about everywhere that I can't flash/crack it to play other region games, yet I have it and plenty of PAL games..
I worked at a warehouse that was designated as a public e-waste drop off. Dude dropped off a complete ps1 set and i had to save it from getting buried in that mess of a warehouse. took it home, opened the tray, and found a blank disc inside with a game on it. I realized it must be hard-modded. burned a game myself, and yup, it loaded. such a blessing. just got a rad2x cable for it today, gonna put it back in service
forget all that. most ps1 have failing cd drives nowadays. just install an ODE like xstation. best way to revive a playstation with dying optical disc drives.

When using a USB to transfer the files, format it to FAT32 using Fat32 Formatter (He glosses over that part in the tutorial)

Why would you need another one for? Do you need another one to play burn disc? Or can you make it play games or can you just make it save games?

I had mine mod in itself. I would burn the CDs rented at blockbuster or borrowed by friends. I’m trying to see if anyone else has done it.
