Creative studio IFL Watches is no stranger to customization, but its latest release might be the sweetest one yet. Limited to just 500 pieces worldwide, the new IFL Watches Bulova Super Seville Honeycomb watch is a buzzy reinterpretation of Bulova’s classic 1970s Super Seville, now reimagined with a hand-painted honeycomb dial, golden honey drops, and a bee-decorated seconds hand — all powered by Bulova’s high-frequency Precisionist movement.
IFL Watches is known for customizing timepieces with artistic flair, often hand-painted, always limited, and never conventional. The brand has built a loyal following by turning familiar models into fun, small-batch expressions of individuality, comfortably injecting doses of artistry and creativity into traditional watch designs. IFL Watches creations typically follow a theme, and this one is no exception.
The release of the Bulova Super Seville Honeycomb revolves around the idea of “the frequency of excellence.” Just as a honeybee’s wings beat at a relentless 200–300 times per second to power its hive, the high-precision quartz Bulova Precisionist NM10 movement oscillates at 262,144 times per second (eight times that of a typical quartz watch), delivering a smooth-sweeping seconds hand and remarkable accuracy to within seconds per year. That steady, purposeful motion is echoed in the watch’s design, where nature’s most productive worker becomes a symbol of high-performance timekeeping.
The 38mm stainless steel case retains the distinctive TV-style shape of the original Super Seville, fitted with a brushed steel integrated bracelet that adjusts from 6.5 to 8.5 inches for comfort across a wide range of wrist sizes. The case, which is water-resistant to 30 meters, is topped with the signature coin-edged fluted bezel and an anti-reflective sapphire crystal.
The real centerpiece, of course, is the cheerful dial. Each honeycomb pattern is hand-painted and features a unique arrangement of golden honey drops, ensuring that no two watches are exactly alike. According to IFL Watches, the “Golden honey drops scattered throughout the surface remind wearers that sweetness follows hard work.” The applied geometric texture gives depth to the otherwise mostly monochromatic silver surface, while the bee-shaped seconds hand flying around the dial center not only adds a whimsical touch but also nods to the hard-working movement powering the watch.
The limited edition IFL Watches x Bulova Super Seville Honeycomb takes a retro-styled timepiece that’s already well-loved, precisely made, and thoughtfully designed and drizzles in customized, playful details for those who appreciate a side of whimsy with their wristwear. As IFL Watches aptly puts it, it’s “a watch for those who create their own buzz in this world.” Priced at $1,190 USD, the watch will be available starting July 7, 2025. With only 500 pieces made, early registration is recommended. For more information, please visit the IFL Watches website.
