Holograph today release their new EP The Manor<\/em>, featuring brilliant single \u201cGreen Eyes<\/a>\u201d and four other dark rock tracks.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the conception of the five-track offering, Holograph tell us, \u201cOur band was formed during Covid, in our home at the Milner Manor. Lockdown meant little work and a lot of time, so we spent hours creating. From old compositions we had in our heads for years to new songs we wrote together.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nearly five years old, the tracks on The Manor<\/em> radiate a certain despair; a certain kind of darkness that was permeating a post-pandemic world. Still there is light, lilting in tracks like \u201cUnterwelt\u201d and \u201cOutside\u201d which take a more indie-pop approach.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we\u2019ve grown and lived new experiences, it\u2019s been difficult to remember exactly how we felt during the creative process,\u201d the band say. \u201cThe songs serve more as a time capsule and memory of where we were in our lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Milner Manor in Woodstock, Cape Town was our haven,\u201d they continue. \u201cIt included our entire extended friend group and family. We\u2019ll forever be grateful for the laughs in the courtyard, the tears in the kitchen, the late nights and the early mornings. The success of our friendship could cure a wicked soul, and reminds us to never forget where we came from.\u201d<\/p>\n

You feel this kinship in The Manor<\/em>. There is a singular style and vision to this stunning offering, with driving bass lines and soaring, psych-rock melodies. Turn the lights down and think back to those moments in your life surrounded by friends. Those are the memories that never die, survived in music like this.<\/p>\n
