Cereal Milk Hot Chocolate\u00a0 is my recipe of the day with the blogging group From Our Dinner Table. We group weekly to post new recipes on a variety of common topics. This week we\u2019re featuring cocoa recipes for the holidays. Glad you could join us!<\/p>\n My recipe today is inspired by childhood memories and a desire to have fun in the kitchen. Since we\u2019re focused on cocoa recipes for the holidays, I wanted to make a hot chocolate. I\u2019ve made several versions of hot chocolate or hot cocoa in the past and wanted to do something a little different.<\/p>\n So I thought about the simple enjoyment as a child of the chocolatey milk that results from a cocoa flavored breakfast cereal. And I thought that could be a fun base for hot chocolate. I opted for Cocoa Puffs cereal, soaking it in hot milk before straining the milk to make the hot chocolate with. The cereal gets pretty soggy and stuck together, so I simply discarded it.<\/p>\n Turns out I was right about the idea, as my husband and I both enjoyed this relaxing together. Our cat Sophie was attracted to the whipped cream. If you have cats, you may wish to offer them a little in a bowl, otherwise you may have less for yourself.<\/p>\n Just saying!<\/p>\n We share Recipes From Our Dinner Table<\/a>!
