With an adjustment to their watering schedule and storage conditions, your amaryllis will bloom repeatedly. Bulbs need to go through a rest period after flowering to recover and bloom again.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4172825\" alt=\"\" width=\"778\" height=\"536\" data-jpibfi-post-excerpt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/centsationalstyle.com\/2025\/12\/how-to-care-for-amaryllis\/\" data-jpibfi-post-title=\"Bloom of the Month: Amaryllis\" data-jpibfi-src=\"https:\/\/centsationalstyle.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/bulb-in-pot.jpg\" srcset=\"https:\/\/centsationalstyle.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/bulb-in-pot.jpg 894w, https:\/\/centsationalstyle.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/bulb-in-pot-300x207.jpg 300w, https:\/\/centsationalstyle.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/bulb-in-pot-768x529.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 778px) 100vw, 778px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>When the amaryllis flowers wilt, trim the spent flowers so the plant doesn\u2019t waste energy forming a seed pod. Do not cut away the stems or leaves.<\/p>\n<p>Allow the leaves to grow throughout the spring and summer in indirect light, watering regularly. Continued leaf growth ensures photosynthesis, which helps the plant store energy in the bulb for future growth. Once the color lightens and starts to turn yellow, remove the stem, trimming it close to the base.
