We\u2019re in a new Charlie Puth<\/a> era as his latest album, Whatever\u2019s Clever!<\/em>, just dropped a few days ago. The project boasts a throwback pop-rock sound; Both Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins featuring on the song \u201cLove In Exile\u201d serves as an indication of the project\u2019s style. Speaking of collaborators, among them is also Coco Jones<\/a>, who sings on \u201cSideways.\u201d Today (March 31), they unveiled a new video for the song.<\/p>\n In a statement, Puth<\/a> says of collaborating with Jones:<\/p>\n \u201cI love working with vocalists who can take a song to the next level \u2014 and Coco did just that. When writing \u2018Sideways,\u2019 I wanted to evoke a very cinematic picture through the chords and melody. And this vision came alive the moment Coco sang into the microphone. She is an incredible artist and it\u2019s been a joy to work with her on this.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Jones also said:<\/p>\n \u201cCharlie is such an incredible artist, constantly refining his craft. We had so much fun bringing \u2018Sideways\u2019 to life, and it was such an honor debuting the song at Charlie\u2019s Blue Note show together in Los Angeles.
