\u201cThose
\nwho cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs.\u201d<\/span><\/i>\u00a0 (Jonah 2:8) God keeps
\ntrying to give us grace, but we refuse to let go of our worthless idols\u2014our own plans and agendas.\u00a0 So, just like with
\nJonah, God has to take extreme measures to open us up to the grace he is trying
\nto give us.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Oftentimes,
\nthis comes through disruption.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>He hurls
\nus into the deep, a place of dependence and desperation, trying to pry open or
\ntightly clenched fists from our own places of comfort and familiarity.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Sadly, even then we still try to cling to our
\nworthless idols of strength and self-sufficiency, until finally we arrive at a
\nplace of total surrender.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

So
\nmaybe we should embrace the disruption instead of fighting it.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Maybe we should open our hands and our hearts
\nand receive the grace God is trying to give us.<\/span>\u00a0
\n<\/span>When we walk with Jesus, disruption is often an invitation.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>In the words of Albert E. Day, \u201cFor into the
\nvacuum created by the destruction of human pride and self-sufficiency, pours
\nthe fullness of God.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>How can we be full
\nof God when we are so full of ourselves?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
