Mark Zuckerberg\u2019s facebook CEO reportly changed it company name in a live event held in the platform while talking about the new \u2018metaverse\u2019 which will serves as the virtual and augmented reality evolution of social technology in the future, and as part of the presentation, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced a new name for the company. <\/p>\n
He stated; Going forward, Facebook the company will be known as \u201cMeta,\u201d while Facebook will still be available as a social media product alongside WhatsApp and Instagram.<\/p>\n
The social media giant Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg added that the Facebook<\/strong> brand is extremely limited to represent whats the company wants to achieve in the future.<\/p>\n The company\u2019s new name and rebranding will represents Facebook <\/strong>apps and its work on augmented and virtual reality products as well.<\/p>\n The new name is meant to \u201creflect who we are and what we hope to build,\u201d Zuckerberg said. \u201cOver time, I hope we are seen as a metaverse company.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cFrom now on, we\u2019re going to be metaverse first, not Facebook first,\u201d said Zuckerberg. \u201cI hope that people come to know the Meta brand and the future that we stand for.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p><\/div>\n
