Oscars 2011: James Franco, Anne Hathaway Receive Advice From Hugh Jackman

Ricky Gervais, where were you when the dynamic duo needed you, bro? Josh Peck stars as Luke Shapiro, who just got the summer off from high school and doesn’t know what to do with his life. I just sit there and try not to laugh or ruin the take.
The Oscars were last night and usually I could not care less. I really don’t get why people care about the Oscar’s. It doesn’t really affect whether or not I enjoyed a movie to know that it won an award from a bunch of over the hill never wares.

Ken: Super 8. The movie absolutely floored me. I had very high expectations for it and it still blew me away with its cross genres storyline. I love Abrams and he delivered a classic in perfect retro style.

Liz: By surprise, do you mean good, or bad? I will go with good. I would say Friends with Benefits. It was a lot better than No Strings Attached, but with essentially the same plot, and it was a lot funnier than I thought it was going to be.

People know who they are. You can’t just be a good actor, you have to be a great actor who can become John Gotti.” Travolta’s ‘Face/Off’ co-star and ‘The Notebook’ director, Nick Cassavetes, is tapped to helm the biopic. James Franco (shocker!) may be in line to play John Gotti Jr.

First, there is the odd and not always logical mix of interests of the general public and the MTV audience that happens as a result of the open and public nominating process. Then, well; then there are the categories.

Before landing the role as Edward Cullen in The Twilight Saga, Pattinson had planned on ditching acting to focus on music. A few of his songs can be heard on the Twilight soundtrack. It’s not inconceivable that he could play Buckley and sing as Buckley.

It’s like this year, minus an endearing blockbuster hit that stay with viewers long after the credits stop rolling, nothing was there to bolster the moment.

Actor James Franco Is Publishing A Short Story Collection. No, Really.

Mila Kunis plays the character Whippit in the comedic film Date Night which is currently playing on HBO. But I would say The Clash, I would love to see The Clash get up there. It wasn’t only Pixar who came up with the mainstream animated goods.
The global success of Slumdog Millionaire did more than just elevate the profiles of director Danny Boyle and writer Simon Beaufoy. It afforded the Oscar winners that rare privilege of being able to bring more unconventional films to the screen in their own terms. Now, they’ve reteamed to bring the life-affirming story of mountain climber Aron Ralston to vivid life with 127 Hours. Find out why Beaufoy was fated to pen what may be the most personal film of his career in this Personalities Interview with Jorge Carreon.

Besides the space alien, there’s a different kind of alien experience in “Paul:” the experience the two British characters have during their first visit to the United States. Can you talk about those two types of experiences?

When Phil and Claire try to enjoy a “Date Night” at a fancy restaurant, they are turned away due to a lack of tables. Phil bluffs and pretends they are a no-show couple and that’s when trouble ensues. The couple they pretend to be is in trouble with the mafia!

CARREON: The brisk pace of the movie adds a breathtaking momentum to the narrative. However, it is quite extraordinary how complex and rich a script you were able to fashion for 127 Hours.

The character and her friends get bailed out by a drug dealer. Good plot for a former Disney girl. Or, even more likely – it is just plain bad and not worthy of a huge roll out. By the way, James Franco is in it, too. It has already grossed $2.7 million overseas.

Liz: Pirates 4. Definitely did not hold my interest like the other three, and I couldn’t help thinking that Johnny Depp read the script and decided to do the movie for the paycheck.

Lo Truglio: Yeah, and their looking at American culture was very smart and thoughtful as well. In this road-trip movie between two friends, the person that comes in and creates jealous between them isn’t even a girl but an alien. So you have that interesting take there. A girl [usually] comes in between the two geek best friends, but it’s an alien, which I thought was really clever.

Hugh Jackman’s Take On Hosting The Oscars

Perhaps Ricky Gervais and other Oscar winners could have added some pizzazz to the lukewarm monologues? Paul Feig: I’ve always kind of just not wanted to do it. In a year filled with great performances, she gives the best.
I’m a huge movie buff and as it gets close to the end of the year, I always look into what is coming out the next year. How good or bad a movie is makes no difference in how it performs the first week or two at the movie theaters. There have been plenty of horrible movies that had great opening weekends at the box office and good ones that started off slow then built up steam. This is because it is all about the hype. Believe it or not, I’m a guy that actually doesn’t mind watching romantic comedies. As long as the movie has a good story line, I’m up for it. Here are the five most anticipated romantic comedies that hit the big screen in 2010.

Mike: Horrible Bosses. Maybe not the worst movie of the summer, but the most disappointing for me. I really wanted, and expected to love this movie, as the trailer was hysterical. Instead, it was filled with unlikable people doing unfunny things.

BEAUFOY: I’ve tried all that, and they still come out this weirdly hopeful thing. You know, sometimes you just have to accept who you are, and the writing is an extension of that. Maybe at some subliminal level one is attracted to such stories because of their personal nature, but it’s more of a discovery, really. Danny and I discovered very late on, that this film was very close to what we felt about life. It was odd for both of us to discover that, given that it’s the film of Aron Ralston. He would understand it as totally his story. The creative process is a very interesting one, and there’s lots going on that you don’t really see when you’re doing it.

Embattled Golden Globes show host Ricky Gervais wrote a script for the 2011 Oscar co-hosts Anne Hathaway and James Franco. He posted the rather cheeky routine on his blog inviting the co-hosts to take advantage.

It is in the vein of the “Dark Knight” movies and it will score on that level. It is a movie that is back story heavy which will turn off those who think it is not needed. One could also argue there are too many effects, but, that seems to be the norm these days. All in all, to reboot the franchise it works and now, let the sequels begin, and they will, and are, for sure.

Adam Sandler is on some better ground, though not by much. Last year, Sandler’s “I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry” got some of his worst reviews ever, even by Sandler’s standards. However, Sandler’s movies do still tend to make over $100 million, even though his movies seem to be getting worse. But Sandler may have a good shot at another blockbuster with “You Don’t Mess With The Zohan” coming out in early June. With Sandler as an ex-Israel commando turned hair cutter, and old friend Rob Schneider as an Arab, it may make some money while getting savaged by critics at the same time, as most Sandler films do.

The youth experiment fell short, if only just a tad bit. ABC was counting on buoying ratings by peppering the traditional Academy Awards gala with fresh faces you’d almost see on the bottles of Gerber labels. But the photos were hot. Check out the incredible Oscar slideshow photos on the left.

What do you think of MTV’s “creative” categories? Do they more accurately reflect what moviegoers want to recognize in the films they have seen in the previous year, or do they seem totally random without any rhyme or reason?

Oscar Writer Bruce Vilanch Versus James Franco On Who Made The Oscars Suck

But, this reboot will do wonders for the Superman legend. And then you had Jody [Johnson] and Hal [Couzens] at Double Negative that did such a great job with it. Liz: I know Ken will disagree with this, but I have to say The Help.
Selena Gomez talks love in a pre-split-from-Justin-Bieber interview for Nylon magazine, due out on newsstands later this month. All February pop rags talk love, in time for Valentine’s Day, but Selena fell prey to a frequent Hollywood problem – in the weeks between magazine interview and magazine publication, the love she was talking about fell apart. Us magazine reports the story on Thursday, Jan. 17.

Tom Santilli, Detroit Movie Examiner: For Paul, after the tremendous success of “Bridesmaids,” do you feel any added pressure with “The Heat” in terms of how it is received by audiences?

Lo Truglio: That was my first Comic-Con experience when we went there last year with “Paul,” so I was thrilled to see so many crazy get-ups and interesting smells.

This is under continuous review as we decide what to accept in both public and private. In more liberal societies, styles of dress and behavior increasingly allow a blurring of the genders. J Edgar Hoover had to hide his desire to cross-dress, now it’s much more mainstream with James Franco posing on magazine covers. If he was so inclined, reassignment surgery completes the transformation. Now we understand there is a range of behavior from the most macho of men to the most girly of women, we can ask whether there’s any difference in the reaction to pain. The answer seems to be that women are significantly more likely to report feeling pain. This may just be cultural. Historically, men were the warriors who defended the home.

He got back into the game though with “28 Days Later,” another classic within its genre. The zombie film redefined how the character of a zombie would be portrayed. No longer would they be slow moving, arms out, makeup covered creatures. In “28 Days,” they looked like rage infused humans that sprinted after their prey. In my mind, every zombie movie that followed was influenced in one way or another by Boyle’s film. Just like “Night of the Living Dead,” changed zombies movies for the future, this film changed them for our generation. Other than the horror factors it mixed political allegory and messages of human nature into its plot.

Monsters and Critics further reported that both Johnny Depp and Robert Downey Jr. were offered the lead in the upcoming Disney film but they both turned it down.

The email reads, ”The property has become a production house. In fact, Iris, who works for the actor, informed me that they are running production from the house. Really? Running a production of such impact and magnitude in a residential area doesn’t violate any zoning restrictions? Are there no limits to the kinds of businesses one can run?

It’s like this year, minus an endearing blockbuster hit that stay with viewers long after the credits stop rolling, nothing was there to bolster the moment.

James Franco Talks About His Golden Year With ‘127 Hours’ (Photos/Video)

Junior also gave his best to John’s wife Kelly and their new born son, 6-week-old son Benjamin , kissing John on both cheeks. What’s important in the filmmaking process has stayed the same. Once that happens, when they get a credible person .
Jumping at the chance to hang out with the mob, hoping it could result in playing one of the biggest roles of his career, you can hardly blame John Travolta, for having a meal with John Angelo Gotti, himself a former mobster, but also the son of one of New York’s most feared – and sometimes revered – crime boss, the late John Gotti Sr.

Ricky Gervais, where were you when the dynamic duo needed you, bro? The pair truly needed his calm, logic, brilliance, and uncanny manner of making the crowd laugh, while boiling the blood of others who thought it was proper to stage a protest.

Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn do not have comedies to release this summer. But they too have fallen a bit from their former glory. Wilson is starting over after his reported suicide attempt last year, but the box office failure of “Drillbit Taylor” this fall wasn’t a good start career wise. Vaughn’s relationship with Jennifer Aniston didn’t help “The Break Up”, and neither did Vaughn going to the North Pole in “Fred Claus.” These founding members of the Frat Pack could also be in a career crossroads soon.

Johnathan: The Change Up. I judge comedies for myself, but I couldn’t help, but let the good word I heard from most people (but not many critics) hinder my opinion that The Change Up would rule. I love Bateman and Reynolds, and together they would seem like a classic pair., but this flick fell short, without being able to find its heart or its funny bone throughout the whole annoyingly familiar plot. Personally I had expected better humor, but instead got gross out gags that just couldn’t even get so much as a chuckle out of me.

James: Conan – I wanted to say Green Lantern so incredibly bad, until I saw this waste of money, time, and existence. From weak direction to plot and character arcs as flat as the Earth in 1426. Ron Perlman gives a Hail Mary of a performance, but even Hellboy himself couldn’t save this clunker.

The science-fiction prequel is an origin story set in present day San Francisco, where man’s own experiments with genetic engineering lead to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy. It stars James Franco, Freida Pinto, John Lithgow, Brian Cox and Tyler Labine.

There’s a scene where Franco and Rogen go back to Robinson’s home and try to get information out of him. It ends up being a physical battle that has them knocking into walls, doors, toilets and the like. Franco and Rogen decide to go out into the middle of nowhere and try to hide, which only leads to them thinking about how they are being traced, which leads them to the cell phones and a scene that is pretty funny dealing with that diabolical.

The movie comedy world is in the midst of some overhaul. The Frat Pack is still relevant, but each of these comedians has slipped a bit from the big hits of their early days. This summer may get some of them back on track, or further confirm that these comedians are sliding down a bit from the A-list. If there is a time for the Frat Pack to get money and laughs again, it is during the summer season. Whether none, some, or all of them can or not may be one of the most intriguing stories of the summer.

Best Movies Of 2010: 5 Most Anticipated Slapstick Comedies And Comedy Movies

Hader: There’s a movie called “Pod People” that has a weird little anteater alien. Following his grand opening into Hollywood Boyle made a few missteps. Just get going because the air goes out of the crowd.

Dale Denton (Seth Rogen) visits his dealer Saul Silver (James Franco) and gets a special kind of weed called Pineapple Express. He takes a hit and then took some to smoke for himself. He ends up seeing a murder and then drags Saul in and they run, run away from the bad, bad men. Pineapple Express.

MTV returns to a category people might think they can better understand with what they call the “Generation Award.” This designation is akin to a lifetime achievement award in other awards ceremonies, but not really. It doesn’t make the recipient sound so close to death or so firmly cemented as a has-been in his/her profession. The award this year is being give to Ben Stiller, if that helps you understand the category any better. If it doesn’t, you’re not alone.

Johnathan: Conan the Barbarian. Conan is a character whose movies or comics never wowed me. I enjoy the Conan flicks with Arnie to a certain degree in spite of myself, but nothing of interest was ever there for me except the star. This Conan sadly flows the same way, making it so Momoa was the only great thing (I felt he greatly embodied Conan from the comics), but sadly the rest of the film keeps you from enjoying anything, but him. The effects and weak story crumble a franchise that I personally never found to be much of anything in the first place.

Does it matter? No, because Selena Gomez is a careful girl. She rarely mentioned Justin Bieber directly in interviews, preferring a more general tone. Here, Selena, 20, says, “I’m having fun. At the end of the day, love is such a normal thing, and everyone deals with it. Just because it’s a different lifestyle doesn’t change the meaning of what I’ve been raised on, which is fairy tales.” Ok, the quote is murky, but the point comes through. Love is normal. That’s still true, even though the recipient of Selena’s love may no longer be on the scene.

CBS is feeling most of the pinch so far, having lost these two shows and the Daytime Emmys. ABC’s soap lineup is still intact, and getting stars like James Franco – for the moment. But with As The World Turns canceled, it is a dark end to a pretty dark year for the business.

And if an alien like Paul came to Earth and met Charlie Sheen, what kind of movie do you think that would be? How would your Haggard and O’Reilly characters deal with that?

But does the smoking, thieving, and drug-smuggling character in the movie portray the real Selena. Gosh, no. “I had to have someone show me how to hold the cigarette,” she says.

2 Tie Styles Popularized At Academy Awards 2011

And then you had Jody [Johnson] and Hal [Couzens] at Double Negative that did such a great job with it. In a year filled with great performances, she gives the best. It seems just not appropriate to ignore this movie.
Summer movie season is almost under way, and with it comes many traditional summer films. One such genre is the summer comedy vehicles for many various A-list comedians. Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Steve Carell, Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell and Seth Rogan among others will star in comedies this summer. All of these comedians have had big summer success over the years, and success in the other months of the year. But their recent failures and struggles at the box office and with critics may undercut their power. Once upon a time, these crop of comedians were called “The Frat Pack.” Nowadays, one has to ask- is their A list power fading?

Going in to the Oscars this year there was a lot of tension since a few celebs were offended by Ricky Gervais’ awesome monologue at whatever awards show that was at and The Academy decided to go safe and good looking by having James Franco and Anne Hathaway (neither of whom are funny) host the event.

Lo Truglio: And he’s been doing it since he was 16. He would interview these comics. And I think with a lot of comedy directors – Judd Apatow, David Wain, Greg Mottola – you try to find something truthful in these kind of ridiculous scenarios. I think it resonates for that reason.

Joey McIntyre: When I read the script, it was just a blast to be involved. We just had so much fun. And being in my hometown (Boston), with all of these funny, funny people. It starts at the top. Paul is such a funny pro, such a nice guy. Then you add in Sandra and Melissa who are just like so cool and get along so well, it just sets the tone every day.

When the show leaves, it will have ended a 54 year run on TV, after starting as a half-hour serial. It won four Drama Series Emmys, with the last in 2003. There are still hopes for As The World Turns to live on in another format – but they said that about Guiding Light too, and no progress has been made yet.

Ken: Transformers 3. The movie made a ton of money and I thought it was ridiculous (in the bad way). Pirates 4 is close because of all the money it made, but at least that was watchable. I hate Michael Bay because of this junk.

It’s like this year, minus an endearing blockbuster hit that stay with viewers long after the credits stop rolling, nothing was there to bolster the moment.

James Franco Plans A Big Return To Abc’s General Hospital’

Her plan is to take a trip to Ireland and keep with an old Irish tradition of asking her mate to marry her on Leap Day. A singular event had transformed Ralston’s life in a manner that is truly unthinkable.

As The World Turns was canceled today, in another dent to CBS’s soap opera empire. With As The World Turns canceled, it is another blow to soap operas in general. The genre has already lost Guiding Light, and just got through the lowest rated Daytime Emmy show ever. But in September 2010, soap opera fans will have to say another goodbye, when As The World Turns is officially canceled.

The Coen Brothers, at their best, possess a quite competence that’s simply unmatched. It is an occasionally violent film, an occasionally quiet film, but an extremely watchable film throughout. Where does it rank among the Coen’s films? Hard to say, it’s like pondering roses or success. You just find yourself wanting a little more.

Other characters who may likely be involved in the Franco arc in addition to Jason (Steve Burton) and Sam (Kelly Monaco) are Carly (Laura Wright) and Maxie (Kirsten Storms).

‘The first 45 minutes.you just have fun. Go out there and have a great time. The last three or four hours, just move it! Just get going because the air goes out of the crowd. Once the awards start getting out, people start leaving, people start losing. Then it becomes a different atmosphere,’ Jackman went on to tell E.

At this point, anything is possible if James Franco wants it to be. This time around, the versatile actor may just shock you with an upcoming film role.

It feels like there is a 3D movie coming out every week and this week is no exception. Born to be wild 3D is a documentary about orphaned orangutans and elephants and the people that save and nurture them. Another 3D movie in limited release is Foo Fighters Back and Forth: Live. It’s a chronicle of the band’s 16 years in the industry from Dave Grohl’s cassette demos when he was still the drummer of Nirvana to its multi-platinum status today. The Foo Fighters will also plays songs of their new album after the mini-documentary.

Liz: I know Ken will disagree with this, but I have to say The Help. I loved the book and the movie definitely did it justice. This is only the second movie I have given 5 stars to.

The thriller “The Call” stars Halle Berry and Abigail Breslin. But, “Oz” is still going strong as the week progressed and will be tough to beat in its second weekend.

James Franco And Mila Kunis Join The Cast Of Upcoming ‘Oz’

This one even has an appearance by teen icon Miley Cyrus. He posted the rather cheeky routine on his blog inviting the co-hosts to take advantage. Both films went head to head for the Best Picture Oscar that year.
The Oscars were last night and usually I could not care less. I really don’t get why people care about the Oscar’s. It doesn’t really affect whether or not I enjoyed a movie to know that it won an award from a bunch of over the hill never wares.

Because the show is lengthy, Jackman advised Oscar co-hosts James Franco and Anne Hathaway to make certain they eat. The actor didn’t think drinking alcohol was a good idea though.

There is nothing showy in this film about England’s King George VI, who despite a debilitating stutter rallied the British Empire at the start of World War II. It is simply a compelling story told remarkably well. The film is a showcase for the acting talents of Colin Firth as the future king Albert, Geoffrey Rush as Australian speech therapist Lionel Logue, and Helena Bonham Carter as Albert’s wife. It is a wonderful film, with a riveting conclusion that is one of the best endings in years.

When Phil and Claire try to enjoy a “Date Night” at a fancy restaurant, they are turned away due to a lack of tables. Phil bluffs and pretends they are a no-show couple and that’s when trouble ensues. The couple they pretend to be is in trouble with the mafia!

And he’s also a fan of people. When you hang out with Judd, it’s like all we ever do is talk about comedies that inspired us or comedy albums. Lorne Michaels is the same way. It’s like, “Oh, here’s a big comedy nerd like us. He’s just a kajillionaire.” [He laughs.] But yeah, they’re just great guys.

Liz: Sarah’s Key, a little indie movie most of you probably haven’t heard of. Heartbreaking, depressing film, based on the book, which I read after seeing the film, but I actually liked the movie better.

And she mentions going to Taylor Swift for girl talk and advice. It’s uncanny, because that’s exactly what she did, shortly after the interview. “We both experienced the same things at the same time,” Selena Gomez said of her Grammy-winning friend. “She just became the person I’d go to for an issue with my family or boyfriend. It’s so hard to trust girls, so I’m lucky to have her.” Well, yes. And since both Taylor Swift and Selena have recently gone through a breakup, they must have had lots to talk about.

One of the new releases will break out of the weekend, a winner. I’ll put my money on Your Highness to be number 1 come Monday. So grab some popcorn, make mine with extra butter, and enjoy a movie.

Watch Ricky Gervais At The Golden Globe Awards And Enjoy Fresh Delivered Pizza

There is not much dialogue in the film, which relies on the stunning animation from the folks at Pixar. I got more heat – no pun intended – off of that than anything else. Joey McIntyre: When I read the script, it was just a blast to be involved.
When filmmaker Greg Mottola needs an actor to play someone in a position of authority who is inept at his job, one of his favorite people to cast is “Saturday Night Live” player Bill Hader. In the sci-fi comedy “Paul” (directed by Mottola), Hader and Joe Lo Truglio play two bumbling FBI agents named Haggard and O’Reilly, who are on the hunt for a foul-mouthed, fugitive alien named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen).

McBride did most of the talking during the interview. But when the conversation slipped away from the film and on to another topic, Franco opened up a bit more.

Hader: I would love to, but I feel like the more the History Channel does shows about them, I’m like, “I don’t know.” When I was a kid, I was like, “Yeah, they totally do [exist]!” And then the more interviews with [he says in a redneck accent] “those guys” . Once that happens, when they get a credible person .

Finally, there is the “Best WTF.” (The “F” here does not mean film). Nominees this year include Amy Poehler urinating in the sink in Baby Mama and Ayush Mahesh Khedekar jumping in a shed full of human excrement in Slumdog Millionaire. Apparently, human waste or related scenes that seem random within a movie can give a film a good chance of being nominated in this category.

The character and her friends get bailed out by a drug dealer. Good plot for a former Disney girl. Or, even more likely – it is just plain bad and not worthy of a huge roll out. By the way, James Franco is in it, too. It has already grossed $2.7 million overseas.

As a young Appalachian woman trying to keep her family together after her father’s apparent murder, Jennifer Lawrence gives a performance that earned her a well deserved Oscar nomination. The movie explores the dark side of poor, rural America to devastating effect. See my original review from the Florida Film Festival here.

The thriller “The Call” stars Halle Berry and Abigail Breslin. But, “Oz” is still going strong as the week progressed and will be tough to beat in its second weekend.

James Franco Gets An Oscar Nomination

The movie has a few flaws, but overall it was a terrific adventure movie with heart and humor. I heard a slew of negativity early on for this flick during my many dealings with the world of comic book movies (get it?).
“The Heat” is a new comedy hitting theaters this Friday, starring Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy as buddy cops. Joey McIntyre, of New Kids on the Block, was in Detroit recently – along with “The Heat” director, Paul Feig – to promote the new film. It may seem odd that a NKOTB member is promoting a movie, but it’s because Joey has a supporting role in it as a member of Melissa McCarthy’s character’s family. I sat down with both Joey and Paul recently to discuss the film.

Soul Surfer is about the inspiring true story of Bethany Hamilton, who overcame all odds and became champion despite losing her arm to a shark attack. The movie stars AnnaSophia Robb, Helen Hunt, Dennis Quaid and Carrie Underwood, in her feature film debut.

The most amazing thing was this; Natalie Portman ( I know she’s pregnant I’m talking about in Black Swan and Always) is not hot. I know I’m shattering the hearts of some of my readers here, but it’s true. In fact I think she may be the most physically overrated celebrity since the hey day of Angelina Jolie (Who looks like a fish). Everyone always makes a big deal of how beautiful Natalie Portman is and I just don’t get it.

Beaufoy garnered plenty of acclaim for his breakout script, the wildly successful British comedy The Full Monty. The crowd pleaser was literally David to the Goliath known as Titanic in 1998. Both films went head to head for the Best Picture Oscar that year. Beaufoy earned a well-deserved nod for Best Original Screenplay, yet he was reluctant to capitalize on its success for an encore.

It was late night’s turn to poke at the Academy Awards on Monday night. All the talk show hosts had a few jokes to make about the hosts this year. Whether it be Jay Leno joking about James Franco trying to saw his arm off to get out of hosting the rest of the night like he did in his film “127 Hours,” or Marisa Tomei poking at James Franco during her sit down with Conan O’Brien on ‘Conan,’ which airs late nights on TBS Channel 16 in Tempe, Franco was the butt of a lot jokes on late night Monday.

Lo Truglio: That was my first Comic-Con experience when we went there last year with “Paul,” so I was thrilled to see so many crazy get-ups and interesting smells.

Date Night airs on HBO on March 17th throughout the day and on HBO’s channels such as HBO, HBO HD, HBO Latino, HBO Latino HD and HBO Pacific. Check local listings for times in your area.

2009 Mtv Movie Awards

There is “Best Villain,” the nominees for which this year include Heath Ledger as The Joker in The Dark Knight. But in September 2010, soap opera fans will have to say another goodbye, when As The World Turns is officially canceled.
This was a difficult list. In most years there’s a clear choice for number one, like Avatar or The Dark Knight. To be honest my top three could be interchangeable depending on the day of the week; they’re all that good.

First up is Your Highness. Directed by David Gordon Green, this adventure-comedy about two brothers, Fabious and Thadeous. When Fabious’s bride, Belladonna, gets kidnapped, he embarks on a mission to save her with a little help from his lazy brother, Thadeous. The movie stars Danny McBride, James Franco, Natalie Portman and Zooey Deschanel.

The film will explore three generations of the notorious crime family, and the Gotti family has agreed to consult for the movie. The family’s involvement would surely be a source of inspiration for Travolta, helping him craft the kind of gritty character he does best.

Ken: X-Men First Class. I love comic book movies, but I was really hesitant of this one before I saw it. Definitely the biggest surprise for me because it’s one of my favorites. Fassbender (Oscar worthy?) and cast are fantastic. Captain America gets honorable mention.

It was fun, because Seth [Rogen] did such a great job in mo cap [motion capture] and bringing what he wanted to bring to it. And then I would throw in some ideas and lines. And then you had Jody [Johnson] and Hal [Couzens] at Double Negative that did such a great job with it.

* A note to the people at the Academy Awards: please nominate WALL-E for a best picture Oscar, not just a best animated film Oscar. This film deserves to be among other movies of its caliber.

Be sure to watch Tom Santilli on TV! Check your local listings for “Movie Show Plus” for Tom’s weekly movie review segment, airing at 3 p.m. EST on MYTV20 in Detroit.

Weekend Movie Preview (1/28)

They didn’t have to twist my arm too much to do it. It’s very much a personal, psychological journey in a funny kind of way. Lo Truglio: And he’s been doing it since he was 16. Craig Robinson (who plays Matheson) is the lying friend of Franco.

It was fun, because Seth [Rogen] did such a great job in mo cap [motion capture] and bringing what he wanted to bring to it. And then I would throw in some ideas and lines. And then you had Jody [Johnson] and Hal [Couzens] at Double Negative that did such a great job with it.

The storyline was simple, run away from the bad guys and not get caught. As with most runaway don’t catch me type movies there was a car chase scene. It was fun and thrilling and fast. You’ve seen the trailer a foot through the windshield is crazy stuff. Then there are the conversations that Franco and Rogen have. Franco is the calm A.D.D. conversationalist, while Rogen is the nervous diarrhea of the mouth guy. Craig Robinson (who plays Matheson) is the lying friend of Franco. He’s a total flake, but a funny flake, one that would say anything just to get out of dying.

BEAUFOY: I think it’s the environment. Danny always says he can’t stand the outdoors, and he’s a very urban filmmaker. He always saw it as an urban film. It’s not really about the great outdoors and the wilderness in the sense of the great open spaces, because he’s trapped in what is effectively a corridor. The only bit of the outside world that he can see is a very narrow strip of sky. But of course it’s an amazing landscape. The point of it really is that, like Aron, it’s not about the landscape. It’s about him. It’s very much a personal, psychological journey in a funny kind of way.

CBS is feeling most of the pinch so far, having lost these two shows and the Daytime Emmys. ABC’s soap lineup is still intact, and getting stars like James Franco – for the moment. But with As The World Turns canceled, it is a dark end to a pretty dark year for the business.

It wasn’t only Pixar who came up with the mainstream animated goods. DreamWorks triumphed too. How to Train Your Dragon is an amazing movie that can prove.

James Franco To Appear On ‘Inside The Actors Studio’

Liz: Sarah’s Key, a little indie movie most of you probably haven’t heard of. The film was released on April 9, 2010 and stars Steve Carrell as Phil Foster and Tina Fey as his wife, Claire Foster. I’d never met Simon and Nick [before doing “Paul”].

James: Midnight In Paris – I’ve always been a fan of Woody Allen, even in the years surrounding Curse Of The Jade Scorpion, but this was the proof I think myself and the rest of the world needed to know he’s still one of the best writers in the business. Yes, it was reminiscent of all his (best) works, but is a greatest hits reel from one of film’s finest really a bad thing?

‘The first 45 minutes.you just have fun. Go out there and have a great time. The last three or four hours, just move it! Just get going because the air goes out of the crowd. Once the awards start getting out, people start leaving, people start losing. Then it becomes a different atmosphere,’ Jackman went on to tell E.

Hader: He did like it. That was good. I thought that the writers – Colin Jost, Seth Meyers and John Mulaney – wrote that sketch. The hard thing about “SNL” is that something happens on Tuesday, and we have to wait until Saturday to do it.

James Franco spoke with The Los Angeles Independent earlier this month with his ‘Your Highness’ co-star Danny McBride. The two actors dished the film with the local LA publication.

CARREON: Danny Boyle has been exceedingly successful in creating worlds for audiences to be transported or witness their realities mirrored back in unexpected ways. 127 Hours is quite respectful in dealing with how small we are in the context of nature. Was that theme apparent to you while writing, or is it something enhanced by Boyle’s own visual acumen in capturing the environment itself.

Actor James Franco Talks About His New Art Film Interior. Leather Bar.

It is a wonderful film, with a riveting conclusion that is one of the best endings in years. It’s about a young guy who crashes the wedding of a woman he desperately wants back. How to Train Your Dragon is an amazing movie that can prove.

BEAUFOY: I was very frightened by the whole industry of it all, the big machine. I don’t know that there’s been a defining moment in my career where things have changed, which is good really. It’s the core principles of why I’m attracted to a story, and how to make a film. What’s important in the filmmaking process has stayed the same. Keep it small, keep it personal, keep it authentic, work with people you like, and trust. That process is much longer than the filmmaking process. The development process is a long one, so try and say something of importance. That sounds very pompous, but it’s really important that it’s not just pure entertainment, that it’s working on lots of levels.

First, there is the odd and not always logical mix of interests of the general public and the MTV audience that happens as a result of the open and public nominating process. Then, well; then there are the categories.

Tiny perhaps in filmmaking scope, but Beaufoy’s penchant for penning an optimistic view of the human condition has consistently bucked against trends embraced by the independent film community. And, despite its often gritty, almost documentary-like reality of orphans living in the slums of India, audiences loved the hero-wins-it all sensibility of Slumdog. A bold, colorful narrative, Beaufoy did not think hard as to what to do with the opportunities to be found post-Oscar. Finding a kinship with Boyle and producer Christian Colson, they set their sights on an equally unconventional story. The result is 127 Hours.

James: Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes – If any film should be considered the “cinematic event of the Summer,” this is it. Great acting, amazing CGI, and a world of new ideas that managed to open our imagination with a solid helping of relevancy for today’s hyper-active youth. James Franco, you’re my hero.

Monsters and Critics further reported that both Johnny Depp and Robert Downey Jr. were offered the lead in the upcoming Disney film but they both turned it down.

James Franco Versus Yale Daily News

The second act of the film plays like the best prison escape movie ever. Everyone always makes a big deal of how beautiful Natalie Portman is and I just don’t get it. If a new release beats “Oz” it would be a huge upset that could redefine the word.

Mike: Horrible Bosses. Maybe not the worst movie of the summer, but the most disappointing for me. I really wanted, and expected to love this movie, as the trailer was hysterical. Instead, it was filled with unlikable people doing unfunny things.

The character and her friends get bailed out by a drug dealer. Good plot for a former Disney girl. Or, even more likely – it is just plain bad and not worthy of a huge roll out. By the way, James Franco is in it, too. It has already grossed $2.7 million overseas.

Mike: Thor. Of all the movies I saw this summer, this was the one I kept comparing other films to. “I liked fill-in-the-blank, but it wasn’t as fun as Thor.” Chris Hemsworth is a star, the film had some really great humor to it, and Kenneth Branagh took a B-list comic book hero and made him into an A-list movie star.

Ken: Super 8. The movie absolutely floored me. I had very high expectations for it and it still blew me away with its cross genres storyline. I love Abrams and he delivered a classic in perfect retro style.

And thankfully for the star, there were no horses heads in his bed.fergat abat it.the following morning, its too 70’s. Dinner ended with Gotti Junior gave John his family’s utmost blessing. Junior also gave his best to John’s wife Kelly and their new born son, 6-week-old son Benjamin , kissing John on both cheeks.

Things Are Fine For Golden Globe And Sag Nominee James Franco

Leonard DiCaprio plays Cobb, a thief who steals information from peoples’ dreams. The two actors dished the film with the local LA publication. But I was reading this one on an airplane and I was laughing out loud.

This was a difficult list. In most years there’s a clear choice for number one, like Avatar or The Dark Knight. To be honest my top three could be interchangeable depending on the day of the week; they’re all that good.

Of course there’s competition for the role. James Franco, James Marsden, Ryan Gosling, and Johnny Depp are all reportedly being considered. Buckley drowned at the age of 30, something that will likely be taken into consideration during casting.

Mike: Green Lantern. Okay, it’s not that I think this film is really “underrated,” but good lord people, it’s really not THAT bad. It didn’t deserve to get shredded to bits by critics and Twitterers alike. It’s a decent enough sci-fi superhero flick. Not great, certainly, but not terrible, either.

Hader: No. I remember on “Superbad,” they said, “You guys should hang out with real cops.” And they sent me and Seth Rogen to hang out with cops. So they took us to South Central [Los Angeles].

Sex and the City 2- Couldn’t get enough of Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda on the famous television show? A lot of other women couldn’t either, which is why they created a Sex and the City movie. What happens when that movie is a hit? That’s right. A sequel that is slated to hit the screen May 28th. This one even has an appearance by teen icon Miley Cyrus. Don’t ask me why though, because I doubt you will see many major Cyrus fans at an R Rated movie. I might like all movies, but I think I’m leaving this for my girlfriend to watch on a girl’s night out. Then again, this movie is perfect for such a night, isn’t it?

Soap Suds: James Franco And Josh Duhmauel Return To Their Soap Opera Roles

If he gets a good story in his hands, it’ll be an awards contender with his distinctive style. Gosh, no. “I had to have someone show me how to hold the cigarette,” she says. So, what’s a girl to do if she has no luck with men whatsoever?
“The Heat” is a new comedy hitting theaters this Friday, starring Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy as buddy cops. Joey McIntyre, of New Kids on the Block, was in Detroit recently – along with “The Heat” director, Paul Feig – to promote the new film. It may seem odd that a NKOTB member is promoting a movie, but it’s because Joey has a supporting role in it as a member of Melissa McCarthy’s character’s family. I sat down with both Joey and Paul recently to discuss the film.

In the Oscar montage what made everyone laugh was the unexpected. It was those moments you couldn’t see as part of a segment because you watched the entire flick. Yet the auto tune fit so eloquently into the moment and then, it was replayed back, just for the perfect effect.

Mike: Super 8. Don’t get me wrong, I liked this movie. I just didn’t think it was all THAT great. I liked it, but didn’t love it. And from Spielberg and Abrams, I should have loved it.

Franco will return in time to possibly throw a wrench in the JaSam (Jason and Sam) wedding. Apparently viewers are in for Franco’s ‘most twisted plan yet.’ And considering what he’s already done, that says a lot.

Of course there’s competition for the role. James Franco, James Marsden, Ryan Gosling, and Johnny Depp are all reportedly being considered. Buckley drowned at the age of 30, something that will likely be taken into consideration during casting.

Russell Brand stars as Arthur in this remake of the Dudley Moore classic. Brand plays the rich drunk playboy who stands to lose his inheritance when he falls for a woman the family disapproves off. The movie also stars Jennifer Garner and Helen Mirren.

She even lives in my neighborhood, so we have just really become close friends. I heard Conan was epically bad and Zookeeper because I know a lot of people in it because it was filmed in Boston in 2009.

Johnathan: X-Men: First Class. Being a huge X-men fan I was a little hurt they made a film with a poor excuse for an original team for the X-Men, and knowing they were pissing fans off at every turn. I went in thinking I would be coming out calling this film an abomination worthy of sitting on a shelf next to Catwoman (should you make the grave mistake of having a shelf containing Catwoman). It played so well as a movie, all comics were wept from my mind. Magneto is played brilliantly by Michael Fassbender that his scenes alone will keep you glued to the screen. But Fassbender far from overshadows the great work put in by McAvoy, Lawrence, and the lot. This compelling, witty, and fun superhero flick is certainly one to check out if you haven’t yet.

And if an alien like Paul came to Earth and met Charlie Sheen, what kind of movie do you think that would be? How would your Haggard and O’Reilly characters deal with that?

Going in to the Oscars this year there was a lot of tension since a few celebs were offended by Ricky Gervais’ awesome monologue at whatever awards show that was at and The Academy decided to go safe and good looking by having James Franco and Anne Hathaway (neither of whom are funny) host the event.

Hader: No. I remember on “Superbad,” they said, “You guys should hang out with real cops.” And they sent me and Seth Rogen to hang out with cops. So they took us to South Central [Los Angeles].

It’s like this year, minus an endearing blockbuster hit that stay with viewers long after the credits stop rolling, nothing was there to bolster the moment.

Movie Review: ‘Eat Pray Love’

This time around, the versatile actor may just shock you with an upcoming film role. But hold on to your seats, “This Is the End” has already opened. See my original review from the Florida Film Festival here.

Hader: We were sh*tting our pants. We wouldn’t get out of the car. We added one of the lines in the movie, because the cop pulled up in front of this house, and there were all these dudes hanging out in front of the house. And the cop was like, “Hey guys, what’s going on?” And they didn’t respond to him. And he goes, “Where’s the love?” And if you watch “Superbad,” I say that to them when I bust them. That was from that experience.

Date Night airs on HBO on March 17th throughout the day and on HBO’s channels such as HBO, HBO HD, HBO Latino, HBO Latino HD and HBO Pacific. Check local listings for times in your area.

James Franco Backstage At The 2011 Spirit Awards

Before landing the role as Edward Cullen in The Twilight Saga, Pattinson had planned on ditching acting to focus on music. About who was there and how he wished he could have treated them differently, and with perhaps a bit more care.
This was a difficult list. In most years there’s a clear choice for number one, like Avatar or The Dark Knight. To be honest my top three could be interchangeable depending on the day of the week; they’re all that good.

Aron Ralston went hiking in the wilderness without telling anyone where he was going, and then, in a deep, narrow crevice, got his forearm trapped between a boulder and the canyon wall. He shouts for help, but who can hear?

TV Guide’s Michael Logan reports that James Franco will indeed reprise the role of artist ‘Franco’ on ABC’s ‘General Hospital.’ According to Logan (per a ‘General Hospital’ rep), Franco will return September 20.

Marisa was visiting with Conan O’Brien to promote her latest film, “The Lincoln Lawyer,” which will hit theaters in Tempe later this month. Watch her complete interview on ‘Conan’ last night on the sidebar.

The soap opera genre may not be at death’s door yet, but these cancellations are not a good sign. Even though As The World Turns and Guiding Light were institutions, their age and their names did not save them. Low ratings and declining interest have put the entire genre in danger.

Calling all Twilight fans in Atlanta – Be sure to check out the upcoming Creation Entertainment’s TWI/TOUR 2009 Convention, taking place on July 10-12, 2009 at the Westin Buckhead. This 3-day event will be packed with fun appearances, events, themed parties, autographs, photo ops and more. Click here for more details.

The thriller “The Call” stars Halle Berry and Abigail Breslin. But, “Oz” is still going strong as the week progressed and will be tough to beat in its second weekend.

James Franco Joins Facebook And Twitter

I’ll put my money on Your Highness to be number 1 come Monday. Perhaps Ricky Gervais and other Oscar winners could have added some pizzazz to the lukewarm monologues? He takes a hit and then took some to smoke for himself.
10 movies of 2010 are listed below. They are my own favorite and you can disagree and have yours. Most of them release the DVDs and available to purchase online, too.

CARREON: Aron’s optimism in real life is quite remarkable to witness. He says he will never make available to the public the harrowing video messages he recorded during his ordeal. Did you get a chance to see them and how did that help shape his persona for the screen?

Joey McIntyre: When I read the script, it was just a blast to be involved. We just had so much fun. And being in my hometown (Boston), with all of these funny, funny people. It starts at the top. Paul is such a funny pro, such a nice guy. Then you add in Sandra and Melissa who are just like so cool and get along so well, it just sets the tone every day.

Johnathan: Thor. I heard a slew of negativity early on for this flick during my many dealings with the world of comic book movies (get it?). Thor was treated as ok by most critics, and some went as far as to trash it for reasons that the plot actually made sense or the fight scenes towards the end weren’t as good as the one in the beginning. But seeing Thor myself, and seeing some of my favorite comic characters brought to life near flawlessly while still holding relevant to film was a great experience.

The email reads, ”The property has become a production house. In fact, Iris, who works for the actor, informed me that they are running production from the house. Really? Running a production of such impact and magnitude in a residential area doesn’t violate any zoning restrictions? Are there no limits to the kinds of businesses one can run?

Yes, it’s an animated film, but no other movie in 2010 was as entertaining or emotionally satisfying. There are moments of unbridled hilarity, like Mr. Tortilla Head and Spanish Buzz Lightyear. The second act of the film plays like the best prison escape movie ever. The visuals are up to the usual Pixar standard, but what makes this a truly great film is the poignant, emotional denouement. The ending is beautiful, bittersweet, and absolutely true. Toy Story 3 is one of the reasons I love the movies.

James Franco Will Air On General Hospital’ Next Month!

The two actors dished the film with the local LA publication. All he wants is to find someone to dance and hold hands with, and longs for contact. The movie made a ton of money and I thought it was ridiculous (in the bad way).

If that was the defining moment, the diamond in the rough or the magic bullet, it failed to liven the spirits of the audience that was hyped up from the entire Hathaway-Franco buzz. It was a FAIL!

The most amazing thing was this; Natalie Portman ( I know she’s pregnant I’m talking about in Black Swan and Always) is not hot. In fact I think she may be the most physically overrated celebrity since the hey day of Angelina Jolie (Who looks like a fish). Other characters who may likely be involved in the Franco arc in addition to Jason (Steve Burton) and Sam (Kelly Monaco) are Carly (Laura Wright) and Maxie (Kirsten Storms).

CARREON: Aron’s optimism in real life is quite remarkable to witness. He says he will never make available to the public the harrowing video messages he recorded during his ordeal. Did you get a chance to see them and how did that help shape his persona for the screen?

His Next Projects On November 5th, he will come out with “127 Hours,” a film starring James Franco. It tells the amazing story of a mountain climber who was stuck in between two rocks in a crevice for 127 hours. It has already screened at the Toronto Film Festival and has opened to good reviews.

Academy Awards 2011 Anne Hathaway: No One Will Be Made Uncomfortable Tonight

Where did you learn how to do that?” That will be a good quote for you guys. There is not much dialogue in the film, which relies on the stunning animation from the folks at Pixar. But they too have fallen a bit from their former glory.

Proctor & Gamble was a pioneer in the genre, as its subsidiaries produced hits like Guiding Light and As The World Turns for decades. Now that both shows are gone, the company no longer has any connections to daytime drama. CBS barely has any left as well, with The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful as their last daytime shows. At the rate things are going, they could be endangered soon enough.

Here’s more with Beaufoy as he discusses the complexities of ticking down 127 significant hours for the screen life of Aron Ralston and why he prefers to live out the very stories he chooses to tell on screen.

It was fun, because Seth [Rogen] did such a great job in mo cap [motion capture] and bringing what he wanted to bring to it. And then I would throw in some ideas and lines. And then you had Jody [Johnson] and Hal [Couzens] at Double Negative that did such a great job with it.

Mike: Captain America. Honestly, I had some reservations about this one. I love the Captain America comic books, but the trailer left me under whelmed. The movie has a few flaws, but overall it was a terrific adventure movie with heart and humor.

I mean don’t get me wrong it’s not like she’s about to replace Kirsten Dunst as the ugliest celebrity to play roles meant for pretty girls, but she’s just plain. I swear I think people get sucked in, by the fact that she looks attainable. That’s a huge thing for guys, they want to feel like they have a shot with the girl even if in reality they don’t.

James Franco And Local Viewers Talk About Aron Ralston’s ‘127 Hours’

He goes along with what others say whether he agrees or not. At least, audience can watch the actress’ wonderful dance. It tells the amazing story of a mountain climber who was stuck in between two rocks in a crevice for 127 hours.

It just taught me a lot working in that way. “Superbad” was such a personal movie. Seth [Rogen] and Evan [Goldberg, the writers of “Superbad”], they named the guys [the main “Superbad” characters, played by Jonah Hill and Michael Cera] after them.

When Phil and Claire try to enjoy a “Date Night” at a fancy restaurant, they are turned away due to a lack of tables. Phil bluffs and pretends they are a no-show couple and that’s when trouble ensues. The couple they pretend to be is in trouble with the mafia!

For most of the film Danny Boyle deals with one location and one actor, James Franco. He preys on our own deep fear of being trapped somewhere and understanding that there doesn’t seem to be any way to escape. “It achieves the delicate task of showing an arm being cut through without ever quite showing it.

Aaron Sorkin’s fleet script doesn’t skimp on rapier put-downs, but it’s shaped beautifully to make us feel the overwhelming loneliness of Mark Zuckerberg, both the odd basis of his success and the reason it rings so hollow.

His Next Projects On November 5th, he will come out with “127 Hours,” a film starring James Franco. It tells the amazing story of a mountain climber who was stuck in between two rocks in a crevice for 127 hours. It has already screened at the Toronto Film Festival and has opened to good reviews.

Preview For Movies Being Released In November 2008

After all, the Oscars are supposed to be traditional and proper. But Greg Mottola in “The Daytrippers” [had the approach of], “I’m fans of you. As The World Turns was canceled today, in another dent to CBS’s soap opera empire.

At this point, anything is possible if James Franco wants it to be. This time around, the versatile actor may just shock you with an upcoming film role.

Hader: Yeah, you work with them on stuff, and it’s never just about being funny. Yeah, we’ll make it funny. We know it can be funny, but where is coming from? You watch all of his movies, and everything’s coming from a personal place. Like, what do you know? Where’s the emotion in it? It’s just really smart.

Be sure to watch Tom Santilli on TV! Check your local listings for “Movie Show Plus” for Tom’s weekly movie review segment, airing at 3 p.m. EST on MYTV20 in Detroit.

Another New Project For The Versatile James Franco

Yet, Slumdog writer Simon Beaufoy was certainly no stranger to such attention. There was a lot of people throwing their two cents into this character that if it didn’t work, then movie doesn’t work. Hard to say, it’s like pondering roses or success.
Mila Kunis plays the character Whippit in the comedic film Date Night which is currently playing on HBO. The film was released on April 9, 2010 and stars Steve Carrell as Phil Foster and Tina Fey as his wife, Claire Foster. The film was produced and directed by Shawn Levy (Just Married, Cheaper by the Dozen, The Pink Panther and Night at the Museum), and features Phil and Claire Foster as they try to put passion back into their marriage. Mark Ruffalo and Kristen Wiig appear in the film as Phil and Claire’s good friends, Brad and Haley. When Brad and Haley tell Phil and Claire about their plans to divorce, it only forces the couple to try harder to save their own marriage.

The character and her friends get bailed out by a drug dealer. Good plot for a former Disney girl. Or, even more likely – it is just plain bad and not worthy of a huge roll out. By the way, James Franco is in it, too. It has already grossed $2.7 million overseas.

Lo Truglio: That was my first Comic-Con experience when we went there last year with “Paul,” so I was thrilled to see so many crazy get-ups and interesting smells.

Besides the space alien, there’s a different kind of alien experience in “Paul:” the experience the two British characters have during their first visit to the United States. Can you talk about those two types of experiences?

There is nothing showy in this film about England’s King George VI, who despite a debilitating stutter rallied the British Empire at the start of World War II. It is simply a compelling story told remarkably well. The film is a showcase for the acting talents of Colin Firth as the future king Albert, Geoffrey Rush as Australian speech therapist Lionel Logue, and Helena Bonham Carter as Albert’s wife. It is a wonderful film, with a riveting conclusion that is one of the best endings in years.

Leap Year – Amy Adams was Julie from the movie, Julie & Julia. She was also the most famous woman pilot in history, Amelia Earheart in Night at the Museum: II the Battle of the Smithsonian. You would think after those that she would be the one being proposed to. Nevertheless, the beautiful starlet stars in this romantic comedy where she takes on the task of turning her love into forever after. Her plan is to take a trip to Ireland and keep with an old Irish tradition of asking her mate to marry her on Leap Day.

After all, the Oscars are supposed to be traditional and proper. One is supposed to saythank you very much, not this is f***ing unbelievable, charming, not cool, and you look marvelous, not that’s some hot bling. It appears that the quest to loosen the audience up failed miserably.

One of the new releases will break out of the weekend, a winner. I’ll put my money on Your Highness to be number 1 come Monday. So grab some popcorn, make mine with extra butter, and enjoy a movie.

James Franco Cooks Meth, Jason Statham Kicks Butt In ‘Homefront’ Trailer

The answer seems to be that women are significantly more likely to report feeling pain. I’m a huge movie buff and as it gets close to the end of the year, I always look into what is coming out the next year.

Now that the clamor of the release of the New Moon trailer has settled down a bit, what’s next for Twilight fan favorite Robert Pattinson? Well, to say the least, this shooting star is just beginning to rocket to fame, fortune and worldwide recognition.

Let’s just say that the categories get a little creative on the MTV Movie Awards. Aside from the usual fare of Best Movie, Best Male Performance, Best Female Performance, and Best Song, MTV has added some interesting and perhaps worthwhile categories such as Best Breakthrough Performance, Male; Best Breakthrough Performance, Female; and Best Comedic Performance. After these, though, the categories start to get a little whacky.

Ken: Originally I had TheTree of Life, but only one movie made me almost leave in the middle of it, The Help. I apparently saw a different movie than everyone else cause I thought it was ignorant and pretentious.

But hold on to your seats, “This Is the End” has already opened. Not only is it counter programming to the super hero, it jumps a day early. It stars James Franco, Jonah Hill and yes, Seth Rogen. It already has $7.8 million in the hopper going into the weekend. Meanwhile, “Man of Steel” has a special opening Thursday for those who picked up tickets at a promotional giveaway.

After all, the Oscars are supposed to be traditional and proper. One is supposed to saythank you very much, not this is f***ing unbelievable, charming, not cool, and you look marvelous, not that’s some hot bling. It appears that the quest to loosen the audience up failed miserably.

Everyone has admires Portman’s performance, and she won the best actress in last year’s Oscars. It seems just not appropriate to ignore this movie. At least, audience can watch the actress’ wonderful dance.

James Franco As The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz?’

Leap Year – Amy Adams was Julie from the movie, Julie & Julia. The cast is solid with Pierce Bronsan, Chris Cooper and Emilie de Ravin in place to showcase the talents of Pattinson. This one even has an appearance by teen icon Miley Cyrus.
Danny Boyle At number eight in my continuing series of top modern directors we have the Oscar winning filmmaker, Danny Boyle. You’ll most likely know Boyle from his work in the best picture winning “Slumdog Millionaire,” but he actually has several solid films under his belt. He’s a director that uses just about every directing technique, every angle and every shot he can, to make the visual experience just about as creative as it can get.

Ken: Rise of the Planet of the Apes. The movie is great and will get sequel(s). Didn’t know what to expect, but really enjoyed it. Serkis could get Oscar nod for playing an ape.

Michigan-native Paul Feig is no stranger to success. He is the creator of the cult-classic TV show, “Freaks & Geeks,” which launched the careers of James Franco, Seth Rogen and Jason Segel, amongst others. He went on to direct episodes on a slew of popular TV shows, such as “Arrested Development,” “30 Rock,” “Mad Men,” “Nurse Jackie” and “The Office.” He was catapulted to the Hollywood Director’s A-List when he directed the 2011 mega-hit, “Bridesmaids.” “The Heat” is is follow-up to that film, once again working with star Melissa McCarthy.

Just as everyone believes that Salieri killed Mozart, so will everyone believe that Mark Zuckerberg stole the idea for Facebook. Director David Fincher and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin may fudge the facts in service of the drama, but the story is told well and the characters are compelling. Jesse Eisenberg as Mark is more singleminded in his focus than deliberately underhanded. The final moments of the film are tragic and deeply ironic. See my original review here.

First, there is the odd and not always logical mix of interests of the general public and the MTV audience that happens as a result of the open and public nominating process. Then, well; then there are the categories.

One of the new releases will break out of the weekend, a winner. I’ll put my money on Your Highness to be number 1 come Monday. So grab some popcorn, make mine with extra butter, and enjoy a movie.

James Franco Gets Another Well

The award this year is being give to Ben Stiller, if that helps you understand the category any better. Your loss bro; controversy, no matter how tenuous, sells. All the talk show hosts had a few jokes to make about the hosts this year.
The Wackness is written and directed by Jonathan Levine, and is a story that follows a teenager throughout one summer in New York City. Josh Peck stars as Luke Shapiro, who just got the summer off from high school and doesn’t know what to do with his life. He isn’t a ‘cool kid’ but falls in love with a girl from the in crowd. As he tries to find his way through the sweltering heat each day, the audience sees more and more of what is inside Luke. It was a wonderful film that reminded me of what it was like to be awkward during that time of life.

I know that you also directed a few episodes of “Arrested Development,” a show that wasn’t very popular when it was on, but since then has found a huge following which actually spurred its revival, with a fourth season now on Netflix and a possible movie upcoming. Another TV series that didn’t do too well on the air, but has since found a massive following is a show that you created, “Freaks & Geeks.” Is there any chance that we will see a resurgence of that show with your involvement?

Ken: Super 8. The movie absolutely floored me. I had very high expectations for it and it still blew me away with its cross genres storyline. I love Abrams and he delivered a classic in perfect retro style.

The harrowing true story of mountain climber Aron Ralston (portrayed by a riveting James Franco), the trio was galvanized by the possibilities presented by turning his life into filmed entertainment. A singular event had transformed Ralston’s life in a manner that is truly unthinkable. While enjoying a day in Utah’s canyons, he slipped and fell into a crevice. A boulder was dislodged, trapping his arm against the walls of the narrow space. Four and a half days later, facing almost certain death, Ralston cut himself free. Nearly bleeding to death, he survived the ordeal to live out a more authentic life. It was honoring that authenticity that motivated Boyle and Beaufoy to tailor those 127 hours into a film that would motivate audiences into rethinking their own places in the world.

During her appearance on ‘Conan’ on Monday night, Marisa joked about getting high with James Franco before the Academy Awards on Sunday night. Getting high before the event made the long awards show bearable apparently. However, a good portion of the interview focused on the fact Lady Gaga wants Marisa to play her in a biopic of her life. Marisa was flattered by the comment, but she was surprised as well.

Vicky Christina Barcelona is the newest film from writer/director Woody Allen. The ensemble cast includes Scarlett Johanssen, Javier Bardem, Rebecca Hall, and Penelope Cruz (who acts so wonderfully crazy that I dare say this is the best role she has ever played). The story follows the cast through one summer in Barcelona, with hilarity and heartbreak woven into the story.

Joey, being a part of New Kids on the Block, you are a huge part of a lot of people’s childhood nostalgia. My sisters I can remember, had all of the dolls and even had New Kids on the Block bedsheets in their room. What though, is nostalgia for you? The New Kids are on tour again right now, but what band from your childhood would you love to see reunite?

They beamed as they hugged and posed for the cameras, while Travolta also signed autographs for waiting fans. John even let one , a young Tony Manero , warm up his car. What no Boom Boom?

Mila Kunis In Oz: Is She Or Isn’t She In The New James Franco, Sam Raimi Pic?

Lo Truglio: Yeah, and their looking at American culture was very smart and thoughtful as well. It is not a comic book, campy adaption of Superman. How to Train Your Dragon is an amazing movie that can prove.
Continuing our countdown of the Top 5 reasons to watch the MTV Movie Awards airing on MTV on Sunday night, May 31, 2009 at 9 p.m. ET–we now relay Reason #3 below.

But Greg Mottola in “The Daytrippers” [had the approach of], “I’m fans of you. I trust you guys. Just do your thing.” And Greg brought so much heart to that movie. The whole end scene was really touching. And that’s a combined effort of all of those guys, but it’s also letting people do their thing. He’s really smart about that.

David O. Russell’s true story of boxer Mickey Ward is, like all good boxing movies, not really about boxing. Much of the praise heaped on the film centers on the Oscar nominated supporting turns by Melissa Leo, Amy Adams, and Christian Bale, but Mark Wahlberg’s performance as Mickey is so subtle that it tends to be overshadowed by the bombast of his co-stars, particularly Bale (who does deserve the Oscar) as Mickey’s crack addicted brother Dicky.

A movie about an adrenaline junky (James Franco) trapped in a gorge could have been boring, but director Danny Boyle creates a wild, kinetic energy by showing us everything that goes on inside Aron Ralston’s head. The film hinges on Franco’s extraordinary performance. Parts of the movie are excruciating to watch, but the catharsis at the end is well-earned and affecting, all the more so because it’s true.

The thriller “The Call” stars Halle Berry and Abigail Breslin. But, “Oz” is still going strong as the week progressed and will be tough to beat in its second weekend.

Oscars 2011: Anne Hathaway Talks About Landing Hosting Gig

Mila Kunis plays the character Whippit, who is married to Tom “Taste” Felton, played by James Franco. Let’s just say that the categories get a little creative on the MTV Movie Awards. Paul Feig: I’ve always kind of just not wanted to do it.
10 movies of 2010 are listed below. They are my own favorite and you can disagree and have yours. Most of them release the DVDs and available to purchase online, too.

It was fun, because Seth [Rogen] did such a great job in mo cap [motion capture] and bringing what he wanted to bring to it. And then I would throw in some ideas and lines. And then you had Jody [Johnson] and Hal [Couzens] at Double Negative that did such a great job with it.

Mike: Captain America. Honestly, I had some reservations about this one. I love the Captain America comic books, but the trailer left me under whelmed. The movie has a few flaws, but overall it was a terrific adventure movie with heart and humor.

What about you? Will you be tuning in on Sunday night to see just what the Oscar co-hosts come up with? The 83rd Annual Academy Awards show is sure to be interesting this year. Be sure to check it out on Sunday, February 27 at 7 p.m. on ABC channel 5 in OKC.

WALL-E is a film about a robot with human emotions who is charged with the Herculean task of cleaning up Earth after the humans have left. He collects interesting artifacts like sporks and rubix cubes that have been left behind, but treasures old movies the most. All he wants is to find someone to dance and hold hands with, and longs for contact. WALL-E finds a friend in EVE, another robot sent to the desolate Earth to search for signs of photosynthesis. The two go on an interstellar adventure together and fall in wonderful robot love. There is not much dialogue in the film, which relies on the stunning animation from the folks at Pixar. I laughed and I cried, and can decree that this was my favorite film of 2008.

Everyone has admires Portman’s performance, and she won the best actress in last year’s Oscars. It seems just not appropriate to ignore this movie. At least, audience can watch the actress’ wonderful dance.

A Conversation With Movie Dude Ben Lyons

In fact, Iris, who works for the actor, informed me that they are running production from the house. It is simply a compelling story told remarkably well. Phil bluffs and pretends they are a no-show couple and that’s when trouble ensues.

Hader: He did like it. That was good. I thought that the writers – Colin Jost, Seth Meyers and John Mulaney – wrote that sketch. The hard thing about “SNL” is that something happens on Tuesday, and we have to wait until Saturday to do it.

CARREON: The brisk pace of the movie adds a breathtaking momentum to the narrative. However, it is quite extraordinary how complex and rich a script you were able to fashion for 127 Hours.

“Eureka, I’ve got it; let’s not do Barbara Streisand and Al Pacino. Let’s bring in the heavies with Anne Hathaway and James Franco!” Was that the miracle idea for theOscars 2011 hosts and presenters?

While 127 Hours may seem like a marked departure from the grand narrative of Slumdog, Beaufoy encourages audiences to look a little closer. Within its brisk 90 minutes, a through line can be found between all of the stories he’s penned over the last decade.

That was in conjunction with Wal Mart, as the advertising tie in was huge for this film. That many be another reason why the hype may outweigh the outcome, however. “Before Midnight” has already been out but it goes wider this weekend while “The Bling Ring” opens small. With its 4,207 theater count for “Man of Steel,” it is one of the widest openings of the year. “Iron Man 3” opened in 4,253 theaters in May. The battle of the summer super hero is on and the studios are happy for sure.

James Franco Talks Your Highness’ And His Performance’ Of A Career

Then there are the conversations that Franco and Rogen have. There was a lot of people throwing their two cents into this character that if it didn’t work, then movie doesn’t work. And she mentions going to Taylor Swift for girl talk and advice.

CBS is feeling most of the pinch so far, having lost these two shows and the Daytime Emmys. ABC’s soap lineup is still intact, and getting stars like James Franco – for the moment. But with As The World Turns canceled, it is a dark end to a pretty dark year for the business.

In the immediate future, Pattinson is all set to star in Remember Me, the story of star-crossed lovers plagued by a family tragedy. The cast is solid with Pierce Bronsan, Chris Cooper and Emilie de Ravin in place to showcase the talents of Pattinson.

Paul Feig: No, well, I can tell you. I saw that video and I was like, who? Is that Joey McIntyre? He’s hilarious! Literally at that point it was done. It was a done deal. He was going in the movie.

While 127 Hours may seem like a marked departure from the grand narrative of Slumdog, Beaufoy encourages audiences to look a little closer. Within its brisk 90 minutes, a through line can be found between all of the stories he’s penned over the last decade.

It is one of the most classic animated movies. Toy Story, Toy Story 2 and it is the final, just want to say “Thanks” to this movie series. The final Toy Story is warm and sweet, touching.

Bar Mitzvah Deprived James Franco Finally A Man

It is a wonderful film, with a riveting conclusion that is one of the best endings in years. At the end of the day, love is such a normal thing, and everyone deals with it. That process is much longer than the filmmaking process.

Ken: Rise of the Planet of the Apes. The movie is great and will get sequel(s). Didn’t know what to expect, but really enjoyed it. Serkis could get Oscar nod for playing an ape.

Currently, there are rumors that 22-year-old hunky Pattinson may play musician Jeff Buckley in a yet untitled film, but he is up against some pretty tough competition. James Franco seems to be the lead contender to land the part because he has more appeal to serious Buckley fans. Jeff Buckley is the singer-songwriter who became famous for his rendition of Hallelujah, but then tragically drowned I 1997. Whether Pattinson snags the role or not, one thing is certain, this British star who zoomed to worldwide stardom is sure to command better projects and bigger roles. His trek to the moon has just begun.

Russell Brand stars as Arthur in this remake of the Dudley Moore classic. Brand plays the rich drunk playboy who stands to lose his inheritance when he falls for a woman the family disapproves off. The movie also stars Jennifer Garner and Helen Mirren.

They beamed as they hugged and posed for the cameras, while Travolta also signed autographs for waiting fans. John even let one , a young Tony Manero , warm up his car. What no Boom Boom?

Anne Hathaway And James Franco Hate Each Other

Fassbender (Oscar worthy?) and cast are fantastic. The actor didn’t think drinking alcohol was a good idea though. The creative process is a very interesting one, and there’s lots going on that you don’t really see when you’re doing it.
The Oscars were last night and usually I could not care less. I really don’t get why people care about the Oscar’s. It doesn’t really affect whether or not I enjoyed a movie to know that it won an award from a bunch of over the hill never wares.

Lo Truglio: And he’s been doing it since he was 16. He would interview these comics. And I think with a lot of comedy directors – Judd Apatow, David Wain, Greg Mottola – you try to find something truthful in these kind of ridiculous scenarios. I think it resonates for that reason.

Furthermore, I think the fact that Hollywood and celebrities think they need a night to celebrate themselves and the tiny bit they do in entertaining a world in a lot more trouble is stupid.

Marisa was visiting with Conan O’Brien to promote her latest film, “The Lincoln Lawyer,” which will hit theaters in Tempe later this month. Watch her complete interview on ‘Conan’ last night on the sidebar.

The film will explore three generations of the notorious crime family, and the Gotti family has agreed to consult for the movie. The family’s involvement would surely be a source of inspiration for Travolta, helping him craft the kind of gritty character he does best.

James Franco spoke with The Los Angeles Independent earlier this month with his ‘Your Highness’ co-star Danny McBride. The two actors dished the film with the local LA publication.

When the show leaves, it will have ended a 54 year run on TV, after starting as a half-hour serial. It won four Drama Series Emmys, with the last in 2003. There are still hopes for As The World Turns to live on in another format – but they said that about Guiding Light too, and no progress has been made yet.

Film Expert James Lipton Discusses James Franco Colin Firth And The Oscars

The effects and weak story crumble a franchise that I personally never found to be much of anything in the first place. How to Train Your Dragon is an amazing movie that can prove. Your loss bro; controversy, no matter how tenuous, sells.
The Oscars were last night and usually I could not care less. I really don’t get why people care about the Oscar’s. It doesn’t really affect whether or not I enjoyed a movie to know that it won an award from a bunch of over the hill never wares.

Boyle’s career started with “Trainspotting,” a now cult indie classic that depicts the struggles with drug addiction. Ewan McGregor had his first starring role in the film and it remains to be the highest rated movie he’s been in. “Trainspotting,” is still one of the most honest, neither anti or pro, look at drugs and the effect they can have on your life. Following his grand opening into Hollywood Boyle made a few missteps. Of his next three films, “The Beach,” “A Life Less Ordinary,” and “Twin Town,” the highest rated on the site Rotten Tomatoes was “Town,” with a lowly 46%.

Ricky Gervais, where were you when the dynamic duo needed you, bro? The pair truly needed his calm, logic, brilliance, and uncanny manner of making the crowd laugh, while boiling the blood of others who thought it was proper to stage a protest.

Paul Feig: I think it’s just honest. It’s not about a time, it’s not about any specific cultural things. It’s really just about growing up and the awkwardness of that, which are very universal themes. So I just wanted to make it like that. I’m sure teenagers 2000 years ago were going through the same emotional issues. I feel like, thanks to all of the amazing people that were involved, we sort of captured that. But you always want something you do to sort of live beyond the time it was on, especially for a TV show that got cancelled after only 18 episodes.

Meanwhile, Selena Gomez is back on the promotion trail, since her indie film “Spring Breakers” with James Franco is due to come out in a couple of months. Selena reminds parents this film is not for her younger fans, but it’s sort of a celebration of her own coming of age.

The actor met with Gotti’s son, “Junior” Gotti, to discuss the part and agreed to add it to a resume that includes roles as Vinny Barbarino, Tony Manero and Chili Palmer.

What do you think of MTV’s “creative” categories? Do they more accurately reflect what moviegoers want to recognize in the films they have seen in the previous year, or do they seem totally random without any rhyme or reason?

In-Depth Interview With James Franco For The Fantastic 127 Hours

Just get going because the air goes out of the crowd. But Fassbender far from overshadows the great work put in by McAvoy, Lawrence, and the lot. Plus, it has some great 1980’s period piece jokes. Michigan-native Paul Feig is no stranger to success.

Continuing our countdown of the Top 5 reasons to watch the MTV Movie Awards airing on MTV on Sunday night, May 31, 2009 at 9 p.m. ET–we now relay Reason #3 below.

CARREON: Aron’s optimism in real life is quite remarkable to witness. He says he will never make available to the public the harrowing video messages he recorded during his ordeal. Did you get a chance to see them and how did that help shape his persona for the screen?

Mike: Captain America. Honestly, I had some reservations about this one. I love the Captain America comic books, but the trailer left me under whelmed. The movie has a few flaws, but overall it was a terrific adventure movie with heart and humor.

Anne Hathaway did get an “E” for effort because she did look stunning in her wardrobe changes. James Franco looked dapper in his suits, save his all-night struggles to read the cue cards.

Marc Fiore, who is producing ‘Gotti,’ is ready to sign Travolta to play the Teflon Don. “We would love to have him. He’s a terrific actor. John Gotti Sr. — he’s an icon. And so is Travolta . The Gottis have an image already.

Pineapple Express is a fun movie. Wanna have a good time? See this movie. If you like pot themes you’ll enjoy it. If you don’t, then you wouldn’t. But I don’t even think pot is a smart thing to smoke, but oh well I found it every bit as entertaining as I think I was intended to and therefore state it’s pot-a-rific.

James Franco Honored With ‘Outstanding Performance Award’ At Sbiff (Video)

Before landing the role as Edward Cullen in The Twilight Saga, Pattinson had planned on ditching acting to focus on music. And he goes, “Where’s the love?” And if you watch “Superbad,” I say that to them when I bust them.
If a new release beats “Oz” it would be a huge upset that could redefine the word. It is not likely that the spoof “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone” will do it.

Actor, writer, director, teacher, student James Franco has done pretty much everything in his career at this point. So why not a documentary on pornography? Why not, indeed.

Joey McIntyre: I just bought a coffee table book of The Clash and I was like, why don’t they come back? Sometimes you don’t want to come back and ruin what something was, but I’m kind of over it. But for me, I’ve seen the benefits of coming back. The good thing about being so young back in the day is that we are still relatively young today. You see bands doing it – The Rolling Stones and Aerosmith – but your fans are going to grow with you. But I would say The Clash, I would love to see The Clash get up there. They’re older now, but that’d be pretty cool.

New Moon taping has wrapped up, and filming of the third Twilight movie Eclipse is set to begin in August. Yes, Pattinson remains one of Hollywood’s brightest stars, and his potential to achieve superstardom is enormous.

In the immediate future, Pattinson is all set to star in Remember Me, the story of star-crossed lovers plagued by a family tragedy. The cast is solid with Pierce Bronsan, Chris Cooper and Emilie de Ravin in place to showcase the talents of Pattinson.

James Franco Seen.On My Street.

Coming off good word from some fellow writers, I saw Super 8 on a fluke with a few friends. But for me, I’ve seen the benefits of coming back. Mila Kunis plays the character Whippit in the comedic film Date Night which is currently playing on HBO.
10 movies of 2010 are listed below. They are my own favorite and you can disagree and have yours. Most of them release the DVDs and available to purchase online, too.

Ken: Tie for me. Even though I heard horrible things about both I still wanted to see Conan the Barbarian and Zookeeper. I heard Conan was epically bad and Zookeeper because I know a lot of people in it because it was filmed in Boston in 2009.

Ken: X-Men First Class. I love comic book movies, but I was really hesitant of this one before I saw it. Definitely the biggest surprise for me because it’s one of my favorites. Fassbender (Oscar worthy?) and cast are fantastic. Captain America gets honorable mention.

Johnathan: Cowboys & Aliens. I heard mixed reactions to this movie. But being the geek I’m sure you know I am at this point, I couldn’t help, but want to see this movie myself due to the fantastic cast and my love for alien attack flicks and westerns. Sadly, I missed my first chance, and never made room to see it afterwards.

Those living close to James Franco in Silver Lake, Los Angeles claim that the “Oz the Great and Powerful” star leaves his trash out all over the street, and believe that Franco is running a production company out of his home, which could explain all the filled parking spaces.

Mike: Transformers 3. Just because it’s big and loud and looks better on the big screen. I saw the first two in theaters and enjoyed them both (admittedly, they are flawed) and I wish I could have made it to see this one, too.

James Franco’s Oscar Night Plans

Us magazine reports the story on Thursday, Jan. 17. The movie stars Saoirse Ronan, Eric Bana and Cate Blanchett. Historically, men were the warriors who defended the home. Can you talk about those two types of experiences?

James Franco’s neighbors are not happy living near the actor, and have filed a formal complaint. MSN reported on Monday, March 25, that Franco’s neighbors say that Franco’s trash is out of control, he takes up all the parking spaces, and he is too noisy.

The film will explore three generations of the notorious crime family, and the Gotti family has agreed to consult for the movie. The family’s involvement would surely be a source of inspiration for Travolta, helping him craft the kind of gritty character he does best.

Julia Roberts is in our fair city to film her new film, “Eat, Pray, Love” alongside James Franco, Javier Bardem, and Billy Crudup. The movie is based on the best-selling memoir by Elizabeth Gilbert, and is about a happily married woman who, while trying to get pregnant, realizes her life needs to go in a different direction. After her divorce, she takes an around-the-world journey that both surprises her and also gives her the perspective she was looking for.

The rags to riches story of Slumdog Millionaire not only successfully courted Oscar glory; it was one of those rare instances where both critics and the general public found much to cheer about. For director Danny Boyle, it was a creative peak that delivered his biggest hit to date. Yet, Slumdog writer Simon Beaufoy was certainly no stranger to such attention. In some ways, the journey depicted by its fearless young ensemble was a microcosm of his experiences within an unpredictable industry.

Lo Truglio: Me, the same. I’ve been fans of Simon and Nick since “Shaun of the Dead.” I’m a big horror movie fan. Watching that movie, you’re like, “Oh, there are people who really love what I love.” So I jumped at the chance to work with them.

James Franco On James Franco

It was just a good fun movie that was not a totally out there storyline like Harold and Kumar are with their pot laced tales. And then hanging out with Simon and Nick every day was such a treat. Michigan-native Paul Feig is no stranger to success.

James: Page One – What I expected to be a lightly veiled cry for help in the digital age turned out to be one of the funniest and heart-warming films of the year.

Lo Truglio: Me, the same. I’ve been fans of Simon and Nick since “Shaun of the Dead.” I’m a big horror movie fan. Watching that movie, you’re like, “Oh, there are people who really love what I love.” So I jumped at the chance to work with them.

Hader: No. I remember on “Superbad,” they said, “You guys should hang out with real cops.” And they sent me and Seth Rogen to hang out with cops. So they took us to South Central [Los Angeles].

Be sure to watch Tom Santilli on TV! Check your local listings for “Movie Show Plus” for Tom’s weekly movie review segment, airing at 3 p.m. EST on MYTV20 in Detroit.

Oscars: Ricky Gervais Wrote Script For Anne Hathaway, James Franco

Mark Ruffalo and Kristen Wiig appear in the film as Phil and Claire’s good friends, Brad and Haley. It is a wonderful film, with a riveting conclusion that is one of the best endings in years. The movie comedy world is in the midst of some overhaul.

Slumdog Millionaire is the breakout indie hit of the year, making its way from small theaters to the multiplexes in record time. This is a story that follows a young boy in India throughout his life into his twenties. Danny Boyle directs and is co-writer of this heartwarming story that makes you believe in love.

In order to win the heart of Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), twenty-something loser Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) must defeat her seven evil exes in mortal combat. Director Edgar Wright’s adaptation of the graphic novel is not content to occupy one genre. It is a martial arts epic, a rom-com, and a videogame come to life. Ridiculously entertaining. See my original review here.

When In Rome – Do as the Romans do? What exactly is it that Romans do? They throw coins into a fountain. So, what’s a girl to do if she has no luck with men whatsoever? That’s easy. Steal some coins from the fountain and she will have more men chasing her than she could’ve ever dreamed of. Couples Retreat, Kristen Bell must figure out if Josh Duhamel really loves her or is one of the suitors that came about from the coins in the fountain. After all, Duhamel could just be a prize to some winner of a contest. Not that he was just that in Win a Date with Tad Hamilton, or anything of that sort.

The best prison film in years, this one builds and builds until the tension is almost unbearable. A Prophet easily strides across three languages and is the closest thing we’re going to get to a Godfather redux in our lifetime.

The movie comedy world is in the midst of some overhaul. The Frat Pack is still relevant, but each of these comedians has slipped a bit from the big hits of their early days. James Franco Chats With Regis & Kelly

Danny Boyle directs and is co-writer of this heartwarming story that makes you believe in love. They didn’t have to twist my arm too much to do it. Or, even more likely – it is just plain bad and not worthy of a huge roll out.

Mike: Horrible Bosses. Maybe not the worst movie of the summer, but the most disappointing for me. I really wanted, and expected to love this movie, as the trailer was hysterical. Instead, it was filled with unlikable people doing unfunny things.

Date Night- You want a romantic comedy that will make you laugh so hard your sides hurt? This is your best bet. How can you go wrong with a 40-year-old virgin known as Steve Carell and SNL’s superstar comedian Tina Fey? In this movie, a glamorous and romantic date takes a thrilling twist. Did you really expect normal out of these two? They are joined by many great actors like Ray Liotta, Mark Wahlberg and heartthrob James Franco.

Paul Feig: You know, when I first read it, it was called, “Untitled Female Buddy Cop Comedy.” I always wanted to do an action comedy. Then you say, I hope the script is good. Because a lot of times the scripts are terrible. But I was reading this one on an airplane and I was laughing out loud. The minute I was handed this, I wanted to do it. I told them to send it to Melissa immediately, I wanted her to read it. Sandra was already interested in doing it. Then it just all came together.

James Franco Versus Yale Daily News

Whether none, some, or all of them can or not may be one of the most intriguing stories of the summer. It was a wonderful film that reminded me of what it was like to be awkward during that time of life.
James Franco’s neighbors are not happy living near the actor, and have filed a formal complaint. MSN reported on Monday, March 25, that Franco’s neighbors say that Franco’s trash is out of control, he takes up all the parking spaces, and he is too noisy.

“Eureka, I’ve got it; let’s not do Barbara Streisand and Al Pacino. Let’s bring in the heavies with Anne Hathaway and James Franco!” Was that the miracle idea for theOscars 2011 hosts and presenters?

New Moon taping has wrapped up, and filming of the third Twilight movie Eclipse is set to begin in August. Yes, Pattinson remains one of Hollywood’s brightest stars, and his potential to achieve superstardom is enormous.

When Phil and Claire try to enjoy a “Date Night” at a fancy restaurant, they are turned away due to a lack of tables. Phil bluffs and pretends they are a no-show couple and that’s when trouble ensues. The couple they pretend to be is in trouble with the mafia!

The thriller “The Call” stars Halle Berry and Abigail Breslin. But, “Oz” is still going strong as the week progressed and will be tough to beat in its second weekend.

Top Summer Movies & Five Theaters To Attend

Sadly, I missed my first chance, and never made room to see it afterwards. Actor, writer, director, teacher, student James Franco has done pretty much everything in his career at this point. Lo Truglio: And he’s been doing it since he was 16.
Continuing our countdown of the Top 5 reasons to watch the MTV Movie Awards airing on MTV on Sunday night, May 31, 2009 at 9 p.m. ET–we now relay Reason #3 below.

‘The first 45 minutes.you just have fun. Go out there and have a great time. The last three or four hours, just move it! Just get going because the air goes out of the crowd. James: Page One – What I expected to be a lightly veiled cry for help in the digital age turned out to be one of the funniest and heart-warming films of the year.

Boyle doesn’t have an extremely impressive filmography as of yet but expect great things in the years to come. He’s now hit his stride and can work with anyone in Hollywood to make the films he wants to make. If he gets a good story in his hands, it’ll be an awards contender with his distinctive style.

The thriller “The Call” stars Halle Berry and Abigail Breslin. But, “Oz” is still going strong as the week progressed and will be tough to beat in its second weekend.

James Franco To Play Mystery In Film Adaption Of +The Game+

The crowd pleaser was literally David to the Goliath known as Titanic in 1998. Fassbender (Oscar worthy?) and cast are fantastic. The newest film from Christopher Nolan is the most stunningly original movie in years.

Lo Truglio: It was a thrill to do. I’d never been part of a movie with so many visual effects, so just as a lover of film, I was very interested in being part of that whole process. And then hanging out with Simon and Nick every day was such a treat. Greg and everyone. I’d never met Simon and Nick [before doing “Paul”]. That was a great opportunity.

For most of the film Danny Boyle deals with one location and one actor, James Franco. He preys on our own deep fear of being trapped somewhere and understanding that there doesn’t seem to be any way to escape. “It achieves the delicate task of showing an arm being cut through without ever quite showing it.

Franco will return in time to possibly throw a wrench in the JaSam (Jason and Sam) wedding. Apparently viewers are in for Franco’s ‘most twisted plan yet.’ And considering what he’s already done, that says a lot.

One of the new releases will break out of the weekend, a winner. I’ll put my money on Your Highness to be number 1 come Monday. So grab some popcorn, make mine with extra butter, and enjoy a movie.

2009 Mtv Movie Awards: My Review Of The Faux-Fest

There’s no self-pity, so any hint of self-pity we cut out of the film. Nowadays, the buzz in movie comedies isn’t surrounding the Frat Pack, but the Gang of Judd Apatow. Then there are the conversations that Franco and Rogen have.

But, that is the movie that has the highest release count going in to the weekend. Steve Carell, Steve Buscemi and Jim Carrey lead this comedy. However, it has a packed cast. So, if it bombs, who to blame? This cast also includes Olivia Wilde, James Gandolfini, Alan Arkin and Jay Mohr. OK, we will know who to blame. It if does well, they should take the credit, too. If movie-goers respond, then the audience simply needed to escape and laugh.

Liz: Sarah’s Key, a little indie movie most of you probably haven’t heard of. Heartbreaking, depressing film, based on the book, which I read after seeing the film, but I actually liked the movie better.

Lo Truglio: That was my first Comic-Con experience when we went there last year with “Paul,” so I was thrilled to see so many crazy get-ups and interesting smells.

Flyboys – Movie Review

A girl [usually] comes in between the two geek best friends, but it’s an alien, which I thought was really clever. Let’s just say that the categories get a little creative on the MTV Movie Awards. Didn’t know what to expect, but really enjoyed it.
Now that the clamor of the release of the New Moon trailer has settled down a bit, what’s next for Twilight fan favorite Robert Pattinson? Well, to say the least, this shooting star is just beginning to rocket to fame, fortune and worldwide recognition.

Ken: The Guard. Most people didn’t see this Irish flick and it didn’t get a big release in the US, but Brendan Gleeson was fantastic and deserves a Golden Globe nomination. Completely un-PC and absolutely humorous.

Liz: Pirates 4. Definitely did not hold my interest like the other three, and I couldn’t help thinking that Johnny Depp read the script and decided to do the movie for the paycheck.

Actor, writer, director, teacher, student James Franco has done pretty much everything in his career at this point. So why not a documentary on pornography? Why not, indeed.

Juli is in love with Bryce, why? She is a deep thinker, an individual and Bryce is superficial, just a pretty face who doesn’t want to appear different from his classmates. He goes along with what others say whether he agrees or not. But once again, we don’t know why. The conflict between the families is further shown when one day Bryce’s father looks out their front window and complains about the disarray of Juli’s family’s home. Then Bryce’s grandfather (played by John Mahoney) explains that the neighbors are renting the house and supporting a mentally retarded uncle. Not sure why this story line was introduced as it was unnecessary and disrespectful.

His Next Projects On November 5th, he will come out with “127 Hours,” a film starring James Franco. It tells the amazing story of a mountain climber who was stuck in between two rocks in a crevice for 127 hours. It has already screened at the Toronto Film Festival and has opened to good reviews.

Summer Movie Preview 2013

Vicky Christina Barcelona is the newest film from writer/director Woody Allen. Here are the five most anticipated romantic comedies that hit the big screen in 2010. This is only the second movie I have given 5 stars to.

Other characters who may likely be involved in the Franco arc in addition to Jason (Steve Burton) and Sam (Kelly Monaco) are Carly (Laura Wright) and Maxie (Kirsten Storms).

Johnathan: Super 8. Coming off good word from some fellow writers, I saw Super 8 on a fluke with a few friends. We enjoyed every minute of it; whether it was following a group of Goonie-esque kids on their film making expedition, or seeing them deal with a bad ass 50’s sci-fi throwback monster, the movie keeps the fun rolling every minute in a steady pace. Plus, it has some great 1980’s period piece jokes.

Paul Feig: Oh, she’s the greatest. She is really one of my comedy heroes. She even lives in my neighborhood, so we have just really become close friends. Her energy is just infectious on the set. She hits such a home run, all the time. She makes my job easy, is really what it is. I just sit there and try not to laugh or ruin the take.
