Get Shamrocked At Your Favorite Irish Pub

The Irish Rogue Pub & Restaurant is located at 356 W 44th St between 8th and 9th. The sidewalks are filled with tourists and locals enjoying the music and food. After all, this is really all about the drinking, isn’t it?
The Emerald Isle, as it’s called, is the ideal getaway for many different kinds of people. Ireland is filled with music, adventure, fun and romance. And it’s only a plane ride away!

The Power and Light District is a great place to explore and see the city. The streets are clean and well lit with beautiful lights. The sidewalks are filled with tourists and locals enjoying the music and food. Police patrol the area keeping it safe for tourists. After the concerts, places like Indie, a contemporary lounge, fill quickly with thirsty customers. The Power and Light District has special festival laws, which very few places in the United States have. Festival laws allow patrons to carry their drinks from place to place and have them on the streets within the district.

There is also many other pizzeria’s around town that are very good also. In St Lucie West you have Big Apple Pizza and Little Italy and they are both very good. There is also a Big Apple Pizza in East Port Plaza off US1.

The Greene Turtle – 7:35 PM – As the Greene Turtle is not one of my favorite places in Baltimore, I chose to wait until they moved on from here before joining in. A little more of a college (or slightly post-college) scene, I always feel a bit old hanging out with all the 22-year-olds in here. Besides, I gave up on bar fights ages ago. Still, I was briefly tempted by the prospect of $4.50 orange crushes, and the specials on Killian’s and Blue Moon. Somehow I managed to stay away.

Slainte is a SF-based yoga bag company that breaks with convention. The trouble with most yoga mat bags is that they only hold a mat–Slainte bags provide more (stylish) capacity so the yogini can carry her mat, water, and dry clothes, too, making her load compact. Lucky for the shopper, though, Slainte sells both. Get mat bags on Etsy, or check out the variety at Sliante.

Cleveland Aquarium – Fish Days of Summer: The GCA will be celebrating FISH every weekend all summer long. The entire family will grow to love these cold-blooded cuties through activities that highlight fish in art, music, drama, literature and more.

Another great feature of Atlantic City is the boardwalk. You can stroll up and down in the sunshine each day. You can pick up an inexpensive coffee or breakfast and sit on a bench in the morning. Or head out in the evening for an ice cream cone. It’s so pleasant to walk beside the ocean.

When in Houston, there is a happy hour every day of the week. The hardest decision to make will be deciding which establishment to visit. A few decisions along the way will help you decide which one is your favorite, such as the type of appetizers you may want, be it Mexican or even Indian or the special pricing of the drinks served at each establishment. The type of bar you are looking to spend your time and money in is also a consideration to take into account. Whatever you decide, surely there is an establishment that will please you at happy hour while in Houston.

Chicago’s Best Irish Pubs

The Power and Light District has special festival laws, which very few places in the United States have. There’s one staple of Ireland that many pubs around the area feature, and that’s the dark mystery known as Guinness.
Niagara Falls offers many ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this year. The many local bars and pubs will be serving beer specials for those interested in a night of green beer goggles. Other options are available for those looking for something a little non-traditional for this Saturday night St. Patrick’s day celebration. The Greater Niagara area includes even more St. Patrick’s Day events, within a 15 minute drive. Neighboring towns, such as Lewiston and North Tonawanda, offer additional opportunites for St. Patrick’s Day celebrating.

Every town has a main drag. Tourist traps, by design, tend to be located on or near that main drag. That’s where all the touristy restaurants, internationally run stores, and tacky souvenir shops are most likely to be. Sure, you’ll want to take a walk down the main drag so you can see what’s there, but be sure to take some time to explore the side streets, too. Some of the most memorable and quirky attractions, bars, restaurants, and shops Bill and I have found during our travels have been on quiet streets away from the action.

The parade route is approximately 3.5 miles and attendees should try to get there as early as possible as approximately 70,000 people are anticipated.

The Irish pubs and bars in Niagara Falls look forward to celebrating St. Patrick’s Day all year. The downtown area of Niagara Falls features both hotel bars to celebrate St. Patty’s Day at, for out-of-town guests, and local bars and pubs down Third Street. Cafe Etcetera is located on the Third Street strip. THe next stretch of local bars and pubs can be found along the Buffalo Avenue stretch of bars. These smaller bars and pubs often cater to local crowds with drink specials, bar foods, and dart board/pool table recreation available. Foley’s is just one of the Buffalo Avenue bars preparing for a night of green beer on St. Patrick’s Day.

Slainte – 8:45 PM – This is where I come in, and where the party really got going. A couple of $2.50 drafts in one of my favorite Irish pubs, served by one of my favorite bartenders (the lovely Bridget), started the night off perfectly for me, with the opening ceremonies in the background. This is also a great place to catch any of your favorite soccer (aka “football”) matches, and therefore always friendly to the rugby types we brought around. Despite the great costumes, however, it still seemed like a low key evening at this point.

Raglan Road (pictured above right), located at Downtown Disney, claims to offer authentic Irish fare, although I’ve often wondered if a “forest” of scallops served on upturned forks or a wild forest mushroom chowder actually fit that description. Still, the food is quite tasty and there are many Irish offerings, too, such as colcannon and bangers and mash. Of course, there are plenty of ales and spirits too if you’d like to wet your whistle in honor of the day. This year’s celebration will be held on both March 16 and 17 and feature U2 Elevation, a U2 tribute band. You can find the menu by clicking here (although the holiday menu may be limited).

It’s St. Patrick’s Day on Tuesday March 17th. In Baltimore all of really big events took place this weekend, but there is always something to do on the main day. That is the case on this day. In Baltimore’s Fells Point area you will be able to find numerous things that will be happening, but at one place you will be able to find live Irish music all day long. That place is Slainte Irish Pub. They will be serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, playing music, and of course serving up some very good green beer. Check out this wonderful Irish pub and get your taste of corned beef and cabbage.

Lots of people want to go to the Caribbean in the winter because it’s cold, dark, and snowy at home and they need a break. But winter is when the rates in the Caribbean go up. Likewise, lots of people hit Europe in the summer because going to Europe usually calls for a longer vacation and people with kids usually have to worry about school schedules. But summer is Europe’s high season and that’s when you’re likely to run into a lot of your fellow Americans. So, if you can manage it, consider taking that trip at a time of year when other people are going to be staying home. You might just come away with a better experience and a real taste of the place you’re visiting.

A description of some of the best St. Patrick’s Day bars on Manhattan’s East Side follows, segmented by neighborhoods, and complete with a link to a full review of each.

Art in glass form. The tulip shaped glass is designed for strong brews. The tulip produces and maintains a good thick head and is recommended for beers that are higher in alcohol and malt content. The narrow neck of the Tulip locks in sweetness, aromas and alcohol.

In Prague, we ran into an Armenian art gallery owner because I happened to spot a sign written in Armenian on his window. I had lived in Armenia for two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer, so I was definitely interested in stopping in to say hi. I got a chance to practice my very rusty Armenian skills and I found a beautiful painting, to boot! When the proprietor asked me how I knew he was Armenian, I mentioned the sign, which I happened to see because I was paying attention and looking left and right as we walked.

This is only a short list of the best places that I know of in Savannah to go to for a night out on the town, there are certainly others. To write about all of the fantastic places in Savannah, could fill an entire book. Savannah is a great place to go, and there is a lot to see, do, eat and drink there.

Restaurant Review: Finnigan’s Irish Pub & Eatery In Ocean City, Md

It is quite popular with students from the local art college, and is packed on the weekends with students and tourists. The glass needs to be held at a 45-degree angle underneath the tap without touching it.
If you want to go to a place where there’s a night life for everyone, no matter what your tastes are, then Savannah, Georgia may be the place for you. Last year in Oslo, Norway, we ventured just beyond the touristy Akers Brygge area and, in an alcove tucked out of sight, found an Slainte that was very popular with the locals. We sat down for a couple of rounds of beer and ended up meeting a couple of very friendly Norwegians who were happy to talk politics with us and tell us about their city. The bartender remarked that he didn’t often get a lot of tourists in his bar. Another patron, who happened to be a first officer employed by the cruise ship we were going to board the next day, told us that we’d definitely found a gem. I believed him when the night was over.

How To Find An Irish Pub – And Drink A Guinness With A Leprechaun

Slainte is a SF-based yoga bag company that breaks with convention. There is a wonderful organic flower farmer who presents huge sunflowers in season and herbs for sale. The tulip shaped glass is designed for strong brews.

All ingredients listed in these St. Patrick’s Day recipes are available at major grocery stores throughout San Antonio, including HEB, Target, Walmart, and Whole Foods.

I arrived a wee bit late, so I didn’t get to experience all the events, but I did show up in time to catch the opening ceremonies on NBC. I have to say, however, that I was disappointed in myself for not donning my old red, white and blue freestyle singlet (see image to the right), especially with the wide array of Olympic-themed costumes displayed by the rugby ladies (see images below). although the bar-hopping public is probably silently thanking me for my inability to find it. But let me go through the night and talk a little bit about the bars in Fells that hosted this event. After all, this is really all about the drinking, isn’t it?

Leadbetters – 8:10 PM – I was sorry to have missed this stop, however. Leadbetters is a casual watering hole (i.e., dive bar) with some decent brews and a near-constant live music scene. For the pub crawl here, the ladies upped the ante with $5 for a Buttmeister shot and a Bud draft. Hopefully it didn’t take them this long to start doing shots. although they were still in workable condition when I found them at the next bar, which was.

Retail shopping is popular in the Power and Light as well. Cosentino’s Market is an upscale grocery with many unique brands and fresh foods prepared daily. Other shops, such as Jos. A Bank, MeMa’s Bakery and the Sprint Studio, are available for visitors.

Although it is known as one of the best gay bars in Savannah, you don’t have to be gay to go there. Whatever you decide, surely there is an establishment that will please you at happy hour while in Houston.
Beer is one the world’s oldest and most widely enjoyed beverages. Throughout the years, both beer and it’s drinking vessels have evolved. A good beer glass will allow a brew to release and maintain colors, aromas and carbonation (head). Just pouring a beer into a glass, brings it to life, engages your senses and starts your mouth watering!

Alexander’s – 7:00 PM – I missed this part, but since this was our starting and finish line, I figure we can talk about it here. A nice bar on one side, a cozy dining room on the other, the new-ish Alexander’s gives the west side of Broadway a solid step up in the war between the two halves. Plus, this evening offered $2 domestics and $4 grape and cherry bombs, so there’s little to complain about here.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day From Dogtown, St. Louis

One recent trip to KC Live! found patrons enjoying an American Idol watch party in the outdoor plaza. This pint glass shows off colors/carbonation and pairs well with many American made brews. It’s as American as baseball, taxes and apple pie.
Restaurants to bring a date or a special someone in your life in Port St Lucie would be Ankai in St Lucie West. It is a Japanese steak house that is pretty good and with a unique twist to it. You will see what the difference is at this restaurant when you arrive. You will be surprised but the food is amazing and you can’t go wrong when going here to eat.

Something every true beer aficionado needs. This pint is designed with a narrow base and a wide mouth. The narrow handle was designed to minimize the surface area that your hand touches, thus reducing the warming of your beer. Also, like the English Pint & American Pints, this glass was designed for use in the Pubs of Ireland. Slainte!

Or if you’re young, or perhaps just young at heart, you can dance the night away at one of the night clubs. One of the best dance clubs in the city is Club One, located at 1 Jefferson St, at the corner of Bay St. There is live music and performances. Although it is known as one of the best gay bars in Savannah, you don’t have to be gay to go there. It is quite popular with students from the local art college, and is packed on the weekends with students and tourists.

Extra Billy’s Barbeque near Willow Lawn. Oh so delicious barbeque with all the Southern comforts you can think of usually under $12. It’s a cozy place right off of Broad Street with a free oreo for dessert–a small treat for all you chocolate lovers out there.

Either way, I’ll have mixed feelings when the Games of the XXIX Olympiad are over. On one hand, I’ll miss the level of competition and the drama, the heartbreak and the elation of the world’s greatest athletes (especially Baltimore’s own Michael Phelps), and the sheer beauty and artistry that accompanies every Olympic Games. On the other hand, I’ll finally be able to get some sleep.

Irish Pubs – A Reason To Travel

In Ireland green is considered to be and unlucky color. But it hasn’t lost its distinctly Irish charm, part of what makes it such a wonderful experience. One of the best features of Atlantic City is the free entertainment.

Pensacola, Florida offers three, locally owned, dining establishments that boast bragging-rights burgers on the menu. There are three great burger options with three unique dining experiences; upscale, old school, and on the beach.

Anyway, hopefully we’ve all learned a thing or two here. And maybe this will tear you away, albeit briefly, from any of the 38 channels upon which the Olympics are being shown, or the internet, where you can watch just about every event not shown on television. including the numerous wrestling losses, not to mention the big medal wins by Randi Miller (women’s freestyle, 63 kg, bronze), Adam Wheeler (men’s greco-roman, 96 kg, bronze) and that 21-year-old surprise Henry Cejudo (men’s freestyle, 55 kg, gold).

Why It’s Not A Good Idea To Take Mom To Your Favorite Boston Area Pub

Not the gold I wanted, but I can’t blame my teammates. we won as a team, and so we lost as a team. Legend has it that Saint Patrick drove the snakes out of Ireland. Spend your mornings in Old Worthington and step back into a simpler era.
“Somebody has to die.””Yes, but it doesn’t have to be one of us! It could be Charlie or Mac!” — This is a typical piece of dialogue coming between brother and sister Dee and Dannis when the four are held hostage in the show It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia.

Blarney Stone – 9:55 PM – This was my first visit to the Blarney Stone, but I have to admit, it won’t be my last. I suppose with the large number of drinking establishments in the area, it’s tough to get to them all. which is exactly what the pub crawl offers, a chance to try each bar for a short period of time. Anyway, it was a comfy little place with some decent specials ($3 Yuengling and Fordham, $4 rail drinks) and a diverse crowd. Although, once our tour director, LBJ, began blowing the whistle to signal the time to depart, one female patron, apparently with dog-like sensitive ears, started giving her the evil eye. I seriously thought the tough-looking girl in leather was going to assault her. Luckily, we moved on just in time.

Max’s on Broadway – 9:20 PM – Next on the list is simply one of the best beer bars I’ve ever had the pleasure to frequent. Max’s has an enormous selection of beer on tap and even more in bottles, so there’s always something new to try. The best part of this particular visit was the $5 Big Ass Beer special. 32 ounces of anything on draft. Not a bad price for a giant Saison Dupont. It was also here that the rugby ladies began to feel the effects of their endeavors, and the party began to get a little rambunctious. Good times were only beginning.

The Lower East Side and St. Patrick’s Day bars go together perfectly. Even in recent years, the Lower East Side maintains its unassuming and gruff but friendly vibe.this is reflected in its wide selection of St. Patrick’s Day bars.

So this March 17th, have an Irish Breakfast, wear a green Guinness shirt, check out the local Saint Patrick’s Day parade, have an Irish lunch, hop onto a cart drawn by oxen and go to whatever pub they stop at (or just hop in a cab and go to an Irish pub), listen to some Irish music, have some Irish drinks, and most importantly have a great time celebrating the Patron Saint of Ireland. Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! Slainte!

5 Fun Ideas For Saint Patrick’s Day

Partygoers in Houston have the advantage of enjoying happy hour in at least one of the top ten establishments every day of the week. Happy hour at these establishments range from discounted drinks to discounted food items or even complimentary food. With a little planning, a person in Houston can enjoy happy hour each day.

Saint Patrick’s Day has become a time to party, sing, and dance. The Irish are known for their love of music. Many great musical acts have come from Ireland: Thin Lizzy, the Cranberries, U2, Van Morrison, Sinead O’Connor, and the Corrs, to name a few. Several pubs bring in Traditional Irish musicians to perform traditional and classic tunes like “When Irish Eyes are Smiling”, “Danny Boy”, “Whisky in the Jar”, “My Wild Irish Rose” and more. Doing an Irish Jig or performing a Riverdance impression are acceptable moves! Of course the best places to sing and dance on this day are in an authentic Irish Pub. If planning a St Patrick’s Party at home instead of heading out to a pub, there are many Irish CDs available to enhance the home atmosphere.

The bartenders at Slainte take pride in their pour as it most certainly makes the beer taste that much better. Guinness is only to be poured in a dry, 20-ounce tulip shaped glass because of the particular aerodynamics the glass creates. The glass needs to be held at a 45-degree angle underneath the tap without touching it. The glass should be filled three quarters of the way and then left to settle for a few moments. The beer needs time to sit in order for the bubbles to settle, making room for more beer.

Cleveland Aquarium – Fish Days of Summer: The GCA will be celebrating FISH every weekend all summer long. The entire family will grow to love these cold-blooded cuties through activities that highlight fish in art, music, drama, literature and more.

Onto Port St Lucie Boulevard there are many different types of restaurants. First up we have Shindigs which is an Slainte and Bar. It is very nice inside and very good food. Next to Shindigs is Vista Grill and Nino’s Pizzeria. Nino’s is not very big and you sometimes have to wait for seating, but their food is just like New York Italian food.

Legend has it that Saint Patrick drove the snakes out of Ireland. There are, of course, no snakes in Ireland today. The question remains, though, as to whether or not there ever were snakes in Ireland. Disbelievers always have those unanswerable annoying questions.

Alexander’s – 10:30 PM – And we’re back to where it all started! This time, the games were officially begun. And not just the real Olympics. In the dining room of Alexander’s, a large table for games such as beer pong and flip cup had taken center stage, with many separate, smaller tables for other assorted drinking games along the walls. Yes, it was also opening day for the Bar Olympics! With my attention now diverted from the spectacle of the opening ceremonies in Beijing, I was able to concentrate on bringing home the silver medal in flip cup for my team. Not the gold I wanted, but I can’t blame my teammates. we won as a team, and so we lost as a team. We played our hearts out, but the other guys were just better that day. There’s no shame in silver. right?

There are several different brands of Irish Cream, the most popular being Bailey’s. It was introduced in 1974 and was the first Irish Cream on the market.

Hello all, my name is Cornelius Daley and I am a traveler. That may be because Irish people are associated with the working class and not the ruling class. The Weizen or wheat beer glass is another German Classic.
My husband Bill and I really enjoy traveling. However, one thing we don’t always enjoy is the lure of the tourist trap. If you’ve ever been anywhere, you probably already know what a tourist trap is. It’s a place that caters to tourists by being very accessible. Some tourist traps really are worth seeing, but they’re usually very crowded and expensive and oftentimes, the time you spend visiting them might be better spent somewhere else.

A German classic. This mug is very thick and weighty to withstand rowdy toasts and clinks of glasses, a German tradition. The wide opening allows for a thick head. The stein has a handle that prevents the transfer of heat from the palm of hand. Prost!

When Bill and I go on trips, we try hard to avoid most of the tourist traps. Our main goal when we travel is to get an authentic taste of the local culture and hang around the people who live there. Sure, it’s great to see a major attraction like the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty, or Big Ben and, of course, there are some so-called tourist traps that deserve at least one visit in a person’s lifetime. But when Bill and I go somewhere new, we try to balance the lure of tourist traps with the lure of local gems and we work hard to find them. So far, this philosophy has paid off by allowing us some unique experiences with locals in a number of European countries. In a couple of weeks, we’ll try it in the Caribbean, as well.

Whenever I’m walking through a city, particularly one in Europe, I have a hard time resisting alcoves, shortcuts, and alleys. I love to walk into little nooks and crannies in a city, because often that’s where I find some of its most unique sights.

South Florida is unique in that people come from all over the world to settle here. You don’t have to go far to find traditional foods from all over the world. Many times these ethnic restaurants have lost some of their traditional roots and adopted an American flare to much of their menu. Some places, like Slainte Irish Pub + Kitchen in Boynton Beach, FL remain dedicated to giving their guests an authentic Gaelic experience. You won’t find sausage and potatoes on the menu at Slainte, rather you’ll be feasting on the traditional fare dubbed bangers and mash. The menu is handcrafted to include only the finest straight from the old country herself. Even the staff are transplants from the Emerald Isle and their delightful accents make the meal that much more enjoyable.

On its website, Stanton Public proclaims that its mission is to “punish your liver”. Stanton Public is known for its beer. This is a place that not only offers a very wide variety of beers, but actually MIXES different types of beer (I had never heard of that before). The crowd is cool without being too hip. The staff is friendly, and while if not entirely an authentic Irish pub, all the basic goodness of an Irish pub are here. Stanton Public is not as much of a ‘dive’ as it appears; in fact, it’s not very divey at all. But the decor and vibe are very relaxed and unpretentious. One of the most popular aspects of Stanton Public is its outdoor seating area that can accommodate a large crowd. The food is standard pub fair, neither great nor bad, but reasonably priced.

To dress for the occasion, Guinness shirts, bottle opener hats, accessories, and barware items are available to gear up for Saint Patrick’s Day. Consider traditional Irish tartan scarves, sashes, or kilts. If looking for a cheaper version, try a green instakilt. Irish jewellery is also a great expression of authenticity. Irish pendants, rings, bracelets, earrings, and more can add an Irish touch. Choose the Irish Claddagh symbol of love, loyalty and friendship or maybe something with Celtic knotwork. There are also History of Ireland rings which feature various symbols representing different phases in Irish history. Celtic Crosses are another symbol associated with Saint Patrick, as he is said to have combined the sun symbol of the druids with the cross of the Christians forming the Celtic Cross.

Every Saturday morning, beginning in early May through the end of October, the Old Worthington neighborhood hosts a variety of Ohio farmers, merchants, and producers among the historic buildings and wonderful eateries. The vendors close at noon, so go early for the best produce. Samples abound too, so you can try that exotic vegetable or home-baked pie before you buy!

Put-N-Bay, The 39th Annual Jose DeRivera Founders Day Celebration – A celebration of the founding of the island village of Put in Bay by Jose DeRivera. Founder’s Day means great food and lots of fun for the entire family. Held in DeRivera Park downtown from 11 am to 5 pm. Island entertainment will perform a free concert from 12:30 to 2 pm. The Put-in-Bay Hog Roasters will provide a roast beef picnic lunch. Actually, Saint Patrick was not Irish, he was English. He was kidnapped and sold into slavery when he was only 16 years old. He escaped from slavery when he was 22 years old by way of Gaul. There he had a dream that Irish voices were calling him to convert them to Christianity. He studied to be a priest and returned to Ireland.

Another place to go if you are vacationing with your family and want to go out for a night on the town, is Loco’s Grill and Pub at 301 W Broughton Street. This warm Slainte located in the downtown area of Hoboken has a few things on the menu but nothing compares to their delectable hamburger. The decor in this mile square hot spot is classic Slainte down to having more than one Guinness tap. The bartenders and wait staff always greet you with a smile and are always attentive to your needs. To start off you can never go wrong with their buffalo wings, and yes, ask for them hot!! When selecting the burger off the menu you made the perfect choice. Toppings almost inhibit this top notch carnivores dream. What makes it so special is the use of top quality meat, the fact that it comes on an English muffin and of course the perfectly cooked shoestring fries on the side. Enjoy!!

Slainte is a SF-based yoga bag company that breaks with convention. On the one hand you have a modern city with modern amenities, but on the other it’s an ancient city of ancient kings. It’s as American as baseball, taxes and apple pie.
Spend your mornings in Old Worthington and step back into a simpler era. The mix of farmers and their wares and the Old Worthington neighborhood and its architecture takes you back to the very foundation of Ohio and the early 1800s.

Among the best St. Patrick’s Day bars on the Lower East Side are Donnybrook, an Irish pub about as unassuming as you will ever find, but also with great food; the Slainte Bar and Lounge, which stands out from most in this area as it’s a bit sleek, but still fun with great Irish themed drinks and food, and Stanton Public, an Irish pub with outdoor seating and one that promises to ‘punish your liver’.

This glass, when tipped up, allows air to flow around the beer and back out through the opening, passing the nose and revealing the pleasant aromas of the brew inside.

Bill and I did this on a trip to Passau, Germany a couple of years ago. I knew about Passau because I had visited there in 1997. Passau is right on the border of Austria and the Czech Republic, so we took the opportunity to visit both countries during our trip. The following year, we went to Oberstaufen, Germany, which is very close to the borders of Austria and Switzerland. During that trip, we spent a day in Oberstaufen, then visited Austria, Switzerland, and Italy. On the way back to our home in Germany, we drove through France and had lunch in a quaint border town where very few Americans were to be found!

Slainte!

Savannah is a great place to go, and there is a lot to see, do, eat and drink there. I hope you stop by Atlantic City this summer, you will love it as much as I do! But the decor and vibe are very relaxed and unpretentious.

St. Patrick’s Day is an Irish holiday honoring the patron saint of Ireland. Saint Patrick is credited with bringing Christianity to Ireland 1,600 years ago. The legend of Saint Patrick is that he led the snakes out of Ireland. Since there are no snakes in Ireland, it is likely that the snakes were symbolic of the pagans.

Slainte!

It’s not enough to have just the food to be considered an authentic Irish pub. You also need a healthy dose of Irish atmosphere. Slainte has real Irish people working there and they also feature live Irish music several nights a week. You’ll feel like you’re actually sitting at a pub in Dublin. There is only one Irish pub in Boynton Beach, FL that does it all the traditional Irish way, and that’s Slainte Irish Pub + Kitchen.

Despite gentrification through the 1990’s and into the 2000’s, Manhattan’s Lower East Side has managed to maintain a good amount of its original character. One of the lasting aspects of the Lower East Side is the great Irish pubs that are found in this area of Manhattan. The Irish pubs in the Lower East Side are as unique and distinguished as the Lower East Side neighborhoods themselves.

Slainte is a place that looks more polished and slicker than it really is. It’s new and well designed, and very spacious, but there is no pretension here. The bartenders will treat you like a regular from your first visit on. They, and the standard prices, are very generous. This is a great happy hour place, as they feature two for one drinks during the week. As for the food, the Shepherd’s pie is delicious a Slainte is a great place to go to watch a game. They have plenty of televisions, and get all the American football and baseball games.

Would you prefer a sporting event? If so, Houston has that too. You and the whole family can go to a Houston Rockets game at the Toyota Center St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

Whenever I’m walking through a city, particularly one in Europe, I have a hard time resisting alcoves, shortcuts, and alleys. I love to walk into little nooks and crannies in a city, because often that’s where I find some of its most unique sights.

One of the best features of Atlantic City is the free entertainment. They have free beaches – no beach tags needed to enjoy the surf and sand. Many Casinos even have beach bars so you can have a drink or a snack without leaving the beach. It is very convenient.

Next up on Port St Lucie Boulevard is Ruffinos Pizzeria. When traveling to Kansas City, be sure to check out the current events hosted at KC Live! and the Power and Light District. Then she brings up her full band for a rousing blues extravaganza.
Ohio is a state in the United State. Like any other country, it has its own fair share of single people who are looking to find someone they can spend their lives with. This people try to get a date through the many dating sites, the singles clubs or the best way they know how. There are singles clubs and groups like Single Volunteers of Lake County which singles volunteer for various things. While they are volunteering they also get a chance to meet with singles in that event. There is the singles Kala which has several dance and social events and Parents without Partners group. If you join any of this groups, you should make sure you attend most of their events so as to meet with singles in Ohio. Take part in almost all the activities to increase your chances of meeting with that special person.

After your tour, it’s time for some live music, or as the Irish call is, “a session.” Irish vacations are not complete without at least one session, preferably in a traditional Slainte. The great thing about sessions is that they’re informal. It’s not like going to see a live band where they have a setlist, and the band plays that list and you watch. In a session, anyone who knows the song is encouraged to sing or play along. An obscure song could see just a couple of old men playing, but get something popular like “Wild Rover” or “Dirty Old Town” started, and the whole pub will join in. It’s the best part of most Irish vacations, and one I recommend.

Some of my favorite travel memories come from experiences I’ve had in places that aren’t what most people would call travel destinations. For instance, when my husband wanted to visit Turin, Italy, I searched for Turin on the Internet. But the place where we actually ended up staying was a good thirty miles from Turin, out in the Italian countryside. It was a bed and breakfast in a tiny little town that wasn’t even necessarily on a map. There, we experienced a true taste of Italian living. We did visit Turin, but we also visited some other much smaller, but very charming cities in the process. Best of all, the people in the places we visited seemed genuinely happy to have us around.

For years she worked as an actress on TV shows such as Cosby as well as on the Broadway stage. Leonardo also traveled the country with national touring companies singing and dancing in original musicals and revivals such as “Stop the World, I Want to Get Off” with the renowned actor/singer and composer Anthony Newley and Nightingale by Charles Strouse (Annie, Bye Bye Birdie).

The same thing goes for restaurants. Consider skipping the TGIFridays and Hard Rock Cafes in favor of local businesses. You might find yourself making new friends there and trying local specialties that you’d never get at a chain restaurant. Of course, there are times when you might welcome a menu in English and familiar foods. But whenever possible, I recommend being brave and stepping outside your comfort zone. Even if you have a bad experience, it’s something you can remember and talk about for the rest of your life. That’s part of what makes traveling such a joy!

Bib number validation. Once on your route you will need to go to the participating pubs and have your bib number validated. The participating pubs are (in no particular order): The Joyce, TirNaNog, Mick O’Shea, Maggie Moore, Patrick’s and Slainte. It is important to make sure that you have your bib number validated. Without that validation there is no way for the race staff to know that you went to that pub.

How To Make The Best Cup Of Irish Tea Around!

It’s the ancient home of the Irish kings, having been settled before the time of the druids! In Prague, we ran into an Armenian art gallery owner because I happened to spot a sign written in Armenian on his window.
The Emerald Isle, as it’s called, is the ideal getaway for many different kinds of people. Ireland is filled with music, adventure, fun and romance. And it’s only a plane ride away!

But yes, there is a story to be told here. A little story of some brave young women and their quest to raise money, celebrate the opening ceremony of the Olympics and drink way more than the Recommended Daily Allowance, even for a Friday. This is the bawdry tale of the Chesapeake Women’s Rugby Pub Crawl, in which I participated on the evening of the opening ceremonies of the Beijing Olympics. But let’s get something straight here. I am neither a woman, nor a rugby player. Just wanted to clear that up. There has been some confusion in the past. Don’t ask.

As with most places in Hoboken, public transportation is your best bet to visit one of these burger joints. You can drive and park in a municipal lot for a few dollars or try and look for street parking but it might not be worth your time.

Next up on Port St Lucie Boulevard is Ruffinos Pizzeria. There food is excellent and of good quality. You can order in or have it delivered. Across the street from Ruffinos is TuTo Freshca and a Sushi and Japanese House. There are many places to choose from and many different types of food to choose from at each restaurant.

Lucky Wright (Saxophonist) played saxophone in the band “The Peppermints.” While on tour, they introduced the “Twist” to the world. He opened for and played behind Chubby Checker, Bobby Rydell and Del Shannon when they were American Idols, so to speak. Wright developed his skills by playing Rhythm and Blues, jump and swing in clubs throughout Southern California during the 50’s and 60’s. He is currently performing with a big band (Bay Cities Swing featuring Lynn McLaughlin) every third Sunday of the month at the Automobile Driving Museum in El Segundo. The band has been playing this gig for the last four years. Wright is an active member of the South Bay New Orleans Jazz Club that performs every week on Sunday afternoon. He is also a songwriter and a published author.

Blinders supposedly keep horses looking straight ahead so they won’t be spooked by something coming up behind them. Anyway, it was a comfy little place with some decent specials ($3 Yuengling and Fordham, $4 rail drinks) and a diverse crowd.

The first modern full-color picture book to feature an African-American protagonist, The Snowy Day inspired generations of readers.

The Banshee is a great place for drinking, but doesn’t offer food. Merrion Square offers a true neighborhood experience (it is hidden a bit on 95th and 2nd Avenue), Doc Watsons offers outdoor seating, Trinity Pub has one of the best burgers in the city, and Kinsale is a great St. Patrick’s Day bar that doubles as a sports bar (great for March Madness viewing).

Another great feature of Atlantic City is the boardwalk. You can stroll up and down in the sunshine each day. You can pick up an inexpensive coffee or breakfast and sit on a bench in the morning. Or head out in the evening for an ice cream cone. It’s so pleasant to walk beside the ocean.

The Farmers Market features all Ohio grown products and many of the farmers are certified organic farmers or present organically grown products. The variety of products is season-dependent. But the vendors include dairies, bakeries, butchers, and florists whose products vary little through the spring, summer, and fall. There is a wonderful organic flower farmer who presents huge sunflowers in season and herbs for sale.

One of the most Slainte s in the Greater Niagara area is located just down River Road, in North Tonawanda. The city of North Tonawanda once held a record for the number of bars in one area. Dwyers slainte is located on Webster Street, just off of River Road. This Slainte local favorite, celebrates St. Patrick’s Day with enthusiasm. Dwyer’s slainte also offers a full menu of dining choices to try, with excellent Buffalo Wings. Last year, Dwyer’s sponsored transportation to and from the Buffalo St. Patrick’s Day Parade to discourage drinking and driving. With 40 beers to choose from and 17 different Irish whiskey choices, Dwyer’s is the most slainte in the area for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

About $11-13 per plate, it’s a nice place for a casual lunch or a cozy setting to read a newspaper. The Farmers Market opens for business on May 9, 2009 for the season. Slainte is a place that looks more polished and slicker than it really is.
Apart from your typical fast food drive-throughs, there are other cheap ways to enjoy your stay in Richmond, Virginia. Some of the best local places have meals for $10.00 or under within an easy drive. Here are some of my personal favorites.

One of the charms of the Old Worthington neighborhood is the tremendous growth in the area of cafes and restaurants that utilize the wide High Street sidewalk on sunny days to extend their patrons out and among the Farmers Market throngs. The Worthington Inn and its historic measure anchor the neighborhood. Lunches and dinners often require reservations at the historic inn. But neighborhood eateries now include La Chatelaine and its authentic French patisserie, P.K. O’Ryan’s Slainte and its UK pub fare, and local chain Old Bag of Nails Pub with its mix of a UK, German, and truly American menu. During the Farmers Market, a welcome respite can be taken at any of these. And there are many additional options in the neighborhood.

If you have been too busy and all you ever get to do is work and go home to sleep then take a break from work. Go for a cruise meet with singles in Ohio. You can take a lunch cruise on the Cleverland’s Nautica Queen, or any other cruise you are comfortable with. While relaxing and taking in the view of the beautiful scenery that you will pass on your cruise take the opportunity to walk around the boat or ship and talk to the people there. Make a lot of friends in this cruise ship. Make sure by the time you get out of this place you have at least acquired a phone number of one of the people there. If the person gives you a date make sure you go for it. Do not shy away from a date.

Drinking Guinness in New York City is as easy as hailing a cab on Broadway. There are many Irish pubs in the city, but a few are standouts. These three not only have great food and atmosphere, but each and every one pours a perfect Guinness.

Some people travel just because they need a rest and want to get away from it all. But if you’re going to visit another country, why not take the time to see what it has to offer? By all means, take in a couple of tourist traps if you have your heart set on it, but don’t forget to take the time to meet a couple of people, eat some local food, and see some things that are out of the ordinary. If you don’t do that, you might as well stay home!

How To Throw A Great St. Patrick’s Day Party At Home

Whenever I’m walking through a city, particularly one in Europe, I have a hard time resisting alcoves, shortcuts, and alleys. The bartenders will treat you like a regular from your first visit on. Lucky for the shopper, though, Slainte sells both.

Every Saturday morning, beginning in early May through the end of October, the Old Worthington neighborhood hosts a variety of Ohio farmers, merchants, and producers among the historic buildings and wonderful eateries. It makes for a near-perfect Saturday morning outing. The vendors open at 9:00 am each Saturday and pull their wagons up along the sidewalks of High Street, 1 block south of US Route 161. The vendors close at noon, so go early for the best produce. Samples abound too, so you can try that exotic vegetable or home-baked pie before you buy!

If you’re at Universal Studio, check out Finnegan’s, their resident Slainte, located right across from the Revenge of the Mummy ride. Like Raglan Road, Finnegan’s offers a mix of traditional dishes and familiar American favorites, often accompanied by live music. Warning: their soda bread, served with apple butter, is downright addictive. Want to try something adventurous? Order the scotch eggs, which are wrapped in sausage, breaded, and deep fried. Or how about that traditional St. Patty’s day delight, corned beef and cabbage? If none of that sounds good, just opt for a regular burger. Their beer flights are a great way to taste some interesting combinations, like beer and cider or beer mixed with soda. Click here for the menu.

Now Jensen Beach has some very good restaurants as well. They have chain restaurants such as olive garden, long horn, chilli’s, & red lobster. Jensen Beach also has a Duffy’s in the Public Plaza and a Bar and Ale House. In the Jensen Beach Treasure Coast Square Mall is Ruby Tuesday’s.

If you’re single and are looking to go out on the town with your friends, apparently one of the best places to go is Jazz’d Tapas Bar, located on the corner of Broughton and Barnard Streets in the basement of the old Kress building. The entrance is on Barnard Street, just look for the steps going down to the entrance. The place is very chic and stylish. It is a popular place to be and many students and tourists go there for a night out on the town. They have live entertainment Wednesday through Sunday and it’s a great place to listen to good Jazz music.

The pub and restaurant, with a Fireplace Bat, is just around the corner from The Irish Embassy Pub. this charming Irish pub is located behind the King Edward Hotel. As people emigrated from Ireland, they took the celebration with them. During that trip, we spent a day in Oberstaufen, then visited Austria, Switzerland, and Italy. Locally you can watch the parade on WGN Channel 9 or WLS ABC 7.

There’s no shame in silver. right?

The Power and Light District also has The Midland AMC Movie Theatre, which features six screens, and The Mainstreet Theatre concert venue. The district’s largest venue is the Sprint Center, located at the edge of Power and Light. The Sprint Center, which can seat 18, 500, hosts large concerts such as Brittney Spears and large sporting events such as NCAA basketball. Connected to the Sprint Center is the College Basketball Experience, which houses the college basketball Hall of Fame and interactive entertainment for people of all ages.

A lot of people invest in guide books or read articles on the Internet for tips on things to see when they travel. That’s a good plan! You should learn a little bit about wherever you’re going for a lot of reasons. You may only have a short time for your vacation and doing a little research beforehand gives you the opportunity to decide what you really want to see. A little research can also help you avoid places you don’t want to see as well as unsafe areas.

American as apple pie. A glass most commonly used in bars and restaurants in the US. It is thick walled, easy to handle and clean. This pint glass shows off colors/carbonation and pairs well with many American made brews. Cheers!

Guinness – a brand of Irish stout brought to America by Irish immigrants – plans to sell enough beer throughout the year so that 5.5 million pints can be consumed every day. On Saint Patrick’s Day, however, the amount of Guinness consumed more than doubles. Thirteen million pints are consumed by customers on Saint Patrick’s Day. Slainte – a toast heard everywhere – whether you celebrated the holiday on Saturday or Thursday – means health!

Saint Patrick died March 17th, 461 at the age of 76. Before his death, he asked that his body be put on a cart drawn by two oxen and wherever they stopped was where he should be buried. His wishes were followed and his remains were buried where the oxen stopped, on Cathedral Hill in Downpatrick County Down, North Ireland.

Bring out the cowboy Irish in you with the The Houston Livestock and Rodeo, which is the biggest event in Houston of the year. It features concerts by acts such as Hannah Montana, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Toby Keith, Big and Rich and Fergie. The main event begins with a parade, followed by carnivals, concerts, wine show, shopping rodeo competition and world championship BBQ contests.

Other places in St Lucie West to eat would be the West End Grill, they have many different entrees to choose from and it is mostly American food. You can either sit outside or inside at this restaurant and on a nice night you will see many people on the outside patio. There is also the palm city grill in St Lucie West in the Publix shopping plaza. It might be a small place but they have great soups and great food to choose from. Also in the Publix plaza is Hurricane Grill. They have a lot of chicken items to choose from and they are known for their wings. There are four other Hurricane Grill’s in Port Saint Lucie. One other one is by the boat ramps on Veterans Memorial Parkway, another one on US1 by Kitterman Road and one last one in Tradition in the Public Plaza.

Benefits go to the Cypress Creek EMS Public Education Programs such as car seat inspections, bike rodeos, and ambulance tours for children. Over the past five years the parade has raised over $100,000.

Top Three Bars In Salem, Ohio

The type of bar you are looking to spend your time and money in is also a consideration to take into account. Bottled beer varieties include Strongbow Cider, Budweiser, Amstel Light and Heineken. Cafe Etcetera is located on the Third Street strip.
In addition to the parades there are other festivities including dinner dances. Forever Green’s dance at Navy Pier is on February 16. On February 17 there will be an Emerald Dinner Dance in the western suburb of Woodridge. Mystic Blue Cruises has a special St. Patrick’s day cruise for lunch and dinner.

Also, even if you’re wandering, you should try to look as if you’re going somewhere. Watch where you’re going. If you appear to be too casual or confused, you might attract people who mean to do you harm.

Irish vacations can be whatever you want them to be. One I’d recommend off the bat is staying in Dublin and just exploring that great city. It’s the ancient home of the Irish kings, having been settled before the time of the druids! Today it’s lively with commerce and industry, as well as some of the finest music and sports you’ll find anywhere in the world. But it hasn’t lost its distinctly Irish charm, part of what makes it such a wonderful experience. On the one hand you have a modern city with modern amenities, but on the other it’s an ancient city of ancient kings. What more could you want?

Whenever I’m walking through a city, particularly one in Europe, I have a hard time resisting alcoves, shortcuts, and alleys. I love to walk into little nooks and crannies in a city, because often that’s where I find some of its most unique sights.

Enjoy!!

If you have been too busy and all you ever get to do is work and go home to sleep then take a break from work. Go for a cruise meet with singles in Ohio. As with most places in Hoboken, public transportation is your best bet to visit one of these burger joints. You can drive and park in a municipal lot for a few dollars or try and look for street parking but it might not be worth your time.

This is only a short list of the best places that I know of in Savannah to go to for a night out on the town, there are certainly others. To write about all of the fantastic places in Savannah, could fill an entire book. Savannah is a great place to go, and there is a lot to see, do, eat and drink there.

Best Irish Pubs To Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day In Orlando

There is the singles Kala which has several dance and social events and Parents without Partners group. The glass is large and can hold more than your average 12 ounce. Get mat bags on Etsy, or check out the variety at Sliante.

You should exercise caution when you wander, though. Be sure to pay attention to landmarks so you’ll have less chance of getting completely lost and disoriented. When Bill and I wandered through Paris, France, we located a large black skyscraper that was near our hotel in the Montparnasse section of the city. It made finding our hotel a snap, no matter where we were in Paris.

The parade is expected to take about 1-1-2 hours to pass any given point. The 2007 Toronto St. Patrick’s Day Parade will air on Rogers Television in Toronto.

If you want to go to a place where there’s a night life for everyone, no matter what your tastes are, then Savannah, Georgia may be the place for you. Savannah has one of the biggest St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations in the world, the second biggest in the United States after New York City, and this isn’t for nothing. Savannah is a happening place, if bar hopping and pub crawling is your forte.

There’s one staple of Ireland that many pubs around the area feature, and that’s the dark mystery known as Guinness. There is only one way to correctly pour and serve a beer that’s been an Irish tradition since 1759. Guinness is classified as a stout, which means it is made using roasted malt or barley. Stouts got their name because they were considered the strongest or stoutest beer at the brewery. A common misconception is that all stouts are dark in color, which is not true at all.

For all tailgaters who want to do a pit stop at the Roundwood Shopping Center for a cocktail and good times, the Woody’s Taco Island food truck will be serving $5.20 Breakfast Tacos to go until 10:00 AM.

Nine Fine Irishmen Pub In Las Vegas: A Review

A gentile afternoon includes luncheon, a program of Irish music and a tea following the program. It’s a place that caters to tourists by being very accessible. Check out this wonderful Irish pub and get your taste of corned beef and cabbage.

Art in glass form. The tulip shaped glass is designed for strong brews. The tulip produces and maintains a good thick head and is recommended for beers that are higher in alcohol and malt content. The narrow neck of the Tulip locks in sweetness, aromas and alcohol.

Another great feature of Atlantic City is the boardwalk. You can stroll up and down in the sunshine each day. You can pick up an inexpensive coffee or breakfast and sit on a bench in the morning. Or head out in the evening for an ice cream cone. It’s so pleasant to walk beside the ocean.

Apart from your typical fast food drive-throughs, there are other cheap ways to enjoy your stay in Richmond, Virginia. Some of the best local places have meals for $10.00 or under within an easy drive. Here are some of my personal favorites.

In fact, due to its young and heavily Irish population (hey, every population is ‘heavily’ in Manhattan), and due also to the fact that there is no need to drive anywhere, Manhattan is probably the St. Patrick’s Day bar capital of the country.

Special note. This is a fun run so the streets will not be cleared of traffic and the police will not be out directing or stopping traffic for you. Please, if you choose to participate in this extremely fun event obey traffic laws and be careful when crossing streets.

Lyndhurst – Claddagh Slainte and Restaurant – Father’s Day BBQ-Brunch-Dinner- 25389 Cedar Rd., Legacy Village; 9am – 7pm; Adults $24.95, children $9.95, 4 and younger free.

The Kansas City Power and Light District has given the downtown area a new, modern life. The large entertainment attraction gives Kansas City a fresh new look, no longer the sleepy Midwestern town full of cowboys! Parking is a breeze, with all venues within walking distance. Not the gold I wanted, but I can’t blame my teammates. we won as a team, and so we lost as a team. Sonny’s is known for their BBQ and famous Salad Bar. Oh so delicious barbeque with all the Southern comforts you can think of usually under $12.

If you’re at the theme parks or in the Orlando area on St. Patrick’s Day, you can join in the celebration quite conveniently. Both Disney and Universal feature their own Irish pubs, and the Lake Buena Vista area, right outside the Mouse’s gates, has an offering of its own.

As with most places in Hoboken, public transportation is your best bet to visit one of these burger joints. You can drive and park in a municipal lot for a few dollars or try and look for street parking but it might not be worth your time.

Kent – ‘Glass’ at the Kent State University Museum. This exhibition of glass showcases the breadth of the Kent State University Museum collection that has resulted from many donors’ personal collecting interests. Thanks to generous donors, the museum has amassed a diverse collection of glass that spans the Roman Era to the 20th century. The primary glass donors, Paul Miller and Jabe Tarter, were well known glass and antique connoisseurs, and the museum received a 10,000 piece donation from their estate in 2004.

During the game, Kooper’s Tavern and Kooper’s North will feature $5.20 Wings, $5.20 Sliders, $5 for 2 Miller Lites and $5.20 Ravens Bombs.

Part of the Kansas City Power and Light District is KC Live!, an outdoor entertainment attraction that covers an entire city block, two stories, an outdoor plaza, and many bar and restaurant choices. When traveling to Kansas City, be sure to check out the current events hosted at KC Live! and the Power and Light District.

St. Patrick’s Day Holiday Events In New London, Wisconsin

That’s where all the touristy restaurants, internationally run stores, and tacky souvenir shops are most likely to be. There is nothing out there to satisfy your hunger and your taste buds quite like a well crafted hamburger.

Spend your mornings in Old Worthington and step back into a simpler era. The mix of farmers and their wares and the Old Worthington neighborhood and its architecture takes you back to the very foundation of Ohio and the early 1800s.

Cleveland – Rock and Roll Hall of Fame – Rolling Stones – 50 Years of Satisfaction. Don’t miss this first of its kind exhibit from the “World’s Greatest Rock and Roll Band.” This exhibit tells the story of the Rolling Stones’ history, music, creative process, world tours and their critical role in shaping our culture and our very idea of what rock and roll is.

By their very essence, Irish pubs at their best are about community, bonding and relaxed fun. The Lower East Side, while a part of a big and at times disconnected city, is in some ways like a small town itself. Its Irish pubs can serve as a bit of a local meeting place for its residents and workers.

Whenever I’m walking through a city, particularly one in Europe, I have a hard time resisting alcoves, shortcuts, and alleys. I love to walk into little nooks and crannies in a city, because often that’s where I find some of its most unique sights.

During the game, Kooper’s Tavern and Kooper’s North will feature $5.20 Wings, $5.20 Sliders, $5 for 2 Miller Lites and $5.20 Ravens Bombs. Woody’s Rum Bar and Island Grill will feature $5 for 2 Red Stripes, $5 for 2 Cinnamon Buns Shots and $5.20 Tacos!

South Wedge View: Caverly’s Irish Pub

One of the lasting aspects of the Lower East Side is the great Irish pubs that are found in this area of Manhattan. There are many places to choose from and many different types of food to choose from at each restaurant.

Kooper’s North invites you to celebrate the legacy of the greatest linebacker in the History of Football in his last ride. The 10-time All-Pro, 13-time pro-bowl linebacker, Superbowl XXXV MVP and two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year is for us the symbol of passion, hard work and generosity. We look forward to seeing all our patrons, friends and family in their #52 Jerseys!

In addition to these pubs, folks may like Martins West GP in Redwood City, which is fashioned after a Scottish pub or Trials Pub in San Jose, which is fashioned after an English pub. Whatever the case may be, Silicon Valley has some excellent Irish pubs that serve traditional Irish food and drink that is sure to be enjoyed by all.

Okay, I know there are some tourist traps out there that are located near a border. South of the Border, situated just over the South Carolina state line, is one such place. But I still love to stay in towns that are near the border of other states or countries because they often give me more bang for my buck. If we’re not planning to go to a specific city to see a specific thing, I often look for interesting towns near borders that offer good food, pretty scenery, and things to do. Then, if it’s possible, I take trips over the border so I can take a day to explore the local culture in the next state or country.

I know sometimes big hotel chains offer deals that are hard to pass up, especially if you’re a member of a loyalty program. I’m not saying you should never stay in a hotel that’s part of a chain; sometimes you can get the best of all worlds by going that route. I just want you to consider staying in a smaller hotel or a bed and breakfast run by locals. Locally run hotels and bed and breakfasts can get you access to insider information about the place you’re visiting. Proprietors who are eager to please may give you a tip on an excellent local restaurant or help you arrange a special excursion you might not have known about otherwise.

There are tons of places to stay in Atlantic City, many casinos competing for your business. If you don’t want to stay at a casino, there are plenty of small inns or budget chains like Comfort Inns to stay at. The Casinos want your business and offer loyalty cards, free breakfast, entertainment or even free play money for the casino with your hotel package. If you love to gamble, you will love the wide variety of slot machines and table games and so much more!

Dogs Dress Up For St. Puppy’s Day

From Irish soda bread to Guinness chocolate cake, here are the best Irish recipes to make your St. Despite the great costumes, however, it still seemed like a low key evening at this point. Montreal is home to the longest continuously running St.
There is nothing out there to satisfy your hunger and your taste buds quite like a well crafted hamburger. It’s as American as baseball, taxes and apple pie. Starting with high quality ground beef, a good roll or bread and the toppings of your choice it, is what some might consider the perfect food. There are places all over the country to savor the tastes of a good burger but Hoboken, N.J. has some of the best. So when you are in or near this amazing Hudson River front city you must try these places as they are the top 3 burger joints in Hoboken New Jersey.

Along with the singing and dancing often comes drinking. Since it was originally a religious holiday, pubs were required to be closed for the day. This was changed in the 1970s. Some of the most popular drinks for Saint Patrick’s Day are Guinness, Kilkenny and Bailey’s. All Guinness sold in the UK, Ireland, and North America is brewed at St. James Gate in Dublin. Over 10 million glasses of Guinness are enjoyed everyday and is sold in 150 countries around the world. In 2006, more Guinness was sold in Canada than in Ireland on St Patrick’s Day. There are several different brands of Irish Cream, the most popular being Bailey’s. It was introduced in 1974 and was the first Irish Cream on the market.

Most of the bars and pubs in Savannah are in the historic district, with the greater concentration being on River Street or near City Market. There are Irish pubs, and British pubs, American pubs, and plenty of bars, some that are more like restaurants that serve food and are family friendly.

I have done a lot of traveling and a lot of haggling in my day. I love it. I look forward to it. Its a skill that every man and woman should learn and hone on the regular. Remember, life is a negotiation, never accept your first offer, and always always pack two pairs of underwear. for now folks, I am outta here because it is Saint Patrick’s Day weekend and I am Irish. Slainte.

A popular destination year round for soccer fans and NYU students, the Central Bar is one of the loudest and most fun bars in the East Village on St. Patrick’s Day. Lunasa and Ryan’s Irish Pub both offer outdoor seating.

St. Patrick’s Day Parades In Wisconsin

Dwyers slainte is located on Webster Street, just off of River Road. Many Casinos even have beach bars so you can have a drink or a snack without leaving the beach. Live music and happy hours tend to bring in more customers for most restaurants.

Drinking Guinness in New York City is as easy as hailing a cab on Broadway. There are many Irish pubs in the city, but a few are standouts. These three not only have great food and atmosphere, but each and every one pours a perfect Guinness.

In fact, due to its young and heavily Irish population (hey, every population is ‘heavily’ in Manhattan), and due also to the fact that there is no need to drive anywhere, Manhattan is probably the St. Patrick’s Day bar capital of the country.

I know people tend to take their vacations at certain times of the year because of school or work commitments. However, if you are able visit a place during a low or shoulder season, you can save significant money, avoid crowds, and see a popular destination at an unusual time of year. Think about it.

Slainte!

It was also here that the rugby ladies began to feel the effects of their endeavors, and the party began to get a little rambunctious. Good times were only beginning.

Unless we have someplace we really want to see, Bill and I like to wander when we travel. We walk around with no specific itinerary and just go wherever the spirit moves us. Wandering also gives us the chance to talk with each other as we take in the sights and sounds of a new city. Don’t be afraid to get just a little lost.

There’s no shame in silver. right?

The menu is handcrafted to include only the finest straight from the old country herself. Even the staff are transplants from the Emerald Isle and their delightful accents make the meal that much more enjoyable.

Drinking Guinness in New York City is as easy as hailing a cab on Broadway. There are many Irish pubs in the city, but a few are standouts. These three not only have great food and atmosphere, but each and every one pours a perfect Guinness.

Quaint shops in the area also open for Farmers Market patrons. Florists, re-sale shops, and realtors are among those housed in the historic architecture. Often a table of their wares are on the sidewalks, complementing the farmers’ wares on Saturday mornings. And make sure to frequent the neighborhood vendors outside of Saturday mornings too.
