  1. I hired this film years ago from local library and sat with Mum and watched it. I think she liked and enjoyed it. It's one of a handful of films that remind me of her – Bridges of Madison County is another.
I remember trying to teach Mum about using km and kph when out on the road – but she always said she grew up with miles, (we're from England) so nowadays any song where there's references to miles reminds me of childhood and my lovely Mum. Mum was also a fan of western movies. I see the wide open spaces in the US in these films and think how there must be 100's of miles of empty countryside, free of development, and how I would have loved to have taken Mum to the US. I'm 54 now and still yet to visit the US. Unfortunately dementia and pneumonia came along and lost Mum over 3 years ago. Miles are sort of deep rooted in my past, being into astronomy and belonging to two astrononical societies there's always this fascination of distances. From wanting to measure distance of a walk, train journey or a drive in the car, right up to trying to imagine vast distances in the cosmos -instead of 1000's of miles, were talking sextillions and septillions of miles! So this song, as well as the storyline of the song itself being why one would listen to it, it just reminds me of a lot of other things, Mum, childhood, the wonder of what distances mean especially in space, watching this film with Mum, the wild west movies Mum liked (and they used miles) – and my brother in laws band used to finish their gig with this song – although he said he didn't like it much!

  2. I watched this film last week and I loved it so much! Benny, Joon and Sam all are so amazing but Sam is like this cute baby I love him so much❤️ This is probably Johnny Depp's cutest role ever if im not wrong❤️❤️❤️😍

  3. My dad, 45, it’s 1am, we are eating a late night snack, listening to music~ he cries. “Dad why are you crying”
“He was afraid of his daughter falling in love”

  4. My dad always sings this! He really made a quirky and touching pair with my mom, they really were adorable. I remember noticing he stopped singing it when she died a few years ago. To this day, he has not found a new love but he started singing this song again. I'm happy he is better now, and always thankful to him for making me discover this amazing movie. It's really weird to listen to the original song after a litteral life listening to my dad's version!

  5. delillerin aşkı 🙂 çok şirin bir film.
