  1. Her music videos have become so childish and lack creativity. Its just on your face and you know she wanted to be the director of her mvs but somethings must be left to the professionals. Miss the 1989 and red era mvs.

  2. When did this stop being about music and start being so much about her personal life. Like I get that artists draw inspiration from their personal lives. But when your music starts becoming a way to update your fans on what's going in your life than it is about the actual music and it's quality. Then you have a problem.

  3. People picking on the 1830's line are deliberately lying for their own agendas or attention. She says that time period initially because that's when some of the most amazing poets to ever live were writing, but then she – immediately, in the very next line – gets real about the wider realities of that time and says "WITHOUT all the racists (and getting married off for the highest bid)". Anyone pretending they somehow didn't hear that line is just plain lying for their own nasty reasons.

  4. On the issue of Kim; For Taylor, she's been playing the nice girl game for as long as shes been alive, I'd guess, but definitely since shes been a public figure. Still every single time something happens to her, and she's honest about having been through that experience, shes told shes playing the victim card and shouldnt she move on. Why should she? Even if she harped on if for her whole life, she never asked to have that happen to her. I admit I personally think moving on is best for the individual to heal and grow but a good way to be held back from healing and growth is to have people constantly invalidate you, gaslight you and tell you what you should and should not already be over. Kim made Taylor's single biggest fear come true and she was able to do it because when Taylor said Kim was lying, everyone said she was "playing the victim card again". Now that it's proven to have been false all along shes supposed to be over it because to the swifties and to the public it shouldnt have effected her because she still had sales, ect. Ignore the fact she withdrew from life and it fundamentally changed her as a real life person, even changed her quite a bit as a public figure (aside from the fact she's said it multiple times its also obvious from her actions) Shes never lied about any of the situations shes been victimized in and shes never gained from any of those situations either. Shes a fighter and I'm tired of hearing the blame placed on her shoulders because we can't fully conceptualize her as a real person. She can complain about what Kim did TO HER TO HURT HER as long as she damn well wants. Same goes for every other scenario.

  5. The last great album she produced was folklore… that was a magnificent album, evermore was like the album of the songs that didnt get the cut in folklore… by midnights album she knows everything that she would released would be a hit so why bother second guessing which ones are the best songs to put in the album… by tortured poets, this is so evident thus the 31 songs… this is just my opinion, and yes i am a total swiftie from the red to the folklore era… i waited excitedly for evermore midnights and tortured poets album but only liked maybe 5 songs from those albums combined… taylor is a great writer but it feels like that by now she knows that she have a cult like following and no matter how generic her songs are people would buy it… and its so unfortunate bcoz her discography before is amazing (red, 1989, reputation, lover and folklore are my faves and for me is the height of her artistry) i think thats the problem of being too popular… no one is gonna be brave enough to say, that this one is not ur best.

  6. Never thought I feel bad for a billionaire. She needs therapy and some time off. Screw being on top, she's already had it. Just live and try to enjoy doing what you love.

  7. The flaw in joe that she wrote about wasn't the reluctance to marry her, but the fact that he acted like he was going to, when he wasn't. "You shit talked me under the table talking rings and talking cradles"

  8. Taylor has such good hidden gems in her songs but then also such mid shit that even i could have written and honestly she has so many songs that she could have cut a lot of them from the album and kept the few good lines for another song. Her biggest flaw really is quality control

  9. I’m a swiftie and while I think TTPD has some career highlights I also think it can be inconsistent. Not her best overall album but certainly not her worst.

I’m open to criticisms of the album(remember criticisms of Red led her to make 1989 one of her most cohesive and debatably best album to date) but a lot of the reviews I read had criticisms of Taylor herself and not the music (like what does it matter she is a billionaire why was this in an album review??)

  10. i'll say this: if a man was doing what taylor swift does regarding her exes, people would never stop calling him an abuser. Even Kanye's gestures towards his ex wife and mother of his kids was deeply demonized. shes a child, which idrc ab but the double standard sucks

  11. Is it just me or do her lyrics just seem like she lacks syllable control or something. Its just always reads weird. She writes poetry on level of middle schoolers. The swift fans always want to cry sexism but no there are just much better female artists. Taylor swift is the Charlie puth of music it’s just people rightfully accept that the let’s Marvin Gaye and get it on kid is corny and we gotta pretend Taylor swift is more talented than Adele or other female singers. Which she’s not

  12. This was the worst review ever! How dare you disrespect Taylor Swift, I bet you didn’t even listen to it in its entirely. I hope SWIFTIES like me leak ur IP!!!!

  13. I like Shake it off, Blank Space, and Red. But I'm not listening these everyday. Another just flat and boring music. Oh yeah, I remember taylor had beef with Katy in 2017. The disstrack music has billion view with nonsense. She became miss anericana in the magazine of the year, nothing wrong about ut. But how much the industry gave her tropies?.
I mean Adele should get more like taylor.

  14. I know Taylor can make great music and craft great albums, but i’m sorry The Tortured Poets Department doesn’t hit any spots whatsoever, i’d be lying if I said it didn’t almost put me in a coma.

  15. It’s so tiring tbh. I was rooting for her all the times my mom would claim she’s just a singer only caring about her exes but now, it’s like too much. I loved a lot of her older songs but dear God she NEEDS to put out some better music and take more time to polish it than throwing everything out at once like she did with this album it seemed. The performative activism is also so annoying, hearing her shout “gay rights” and “uplift women” when behind closed doors, she’s endorsing bad people and screaming misogyny whenever a black woman gets what she thinks she deserves (Beyoncé).

  16. i'm a swiftie and i like some of her ttpd music (mostly the anthology) was so much better. I got flamed by other swifties.

p.s (the 1830 lyrics- i interpreted it as 'oh wow pretty dresses, no technology, we were one with nature' or smth like in the movies. the way we romanticise the 80s, and think about everything was 'better back then'. still the racist line hit a little off, she could've picked a different analogy)

folklore and evermore is the best, she almost did better when she was creatively restricted. i hope that some stability in her relationship will bring back storytelling taylor.

and also here's my 'what should've been ttpd' – So Long London, Who's Afraid of Little old me (basically a better version of look what you made me do), guilty as sin, the albatross, the bolter, the prophecy, cassandra, how did it end?, the alchemy, my boy only breaks his favourite toys (would've made this the single, the vocal harmonies are quite nice)

yeah overall mid album, some nice stuff but not consistent.
