Well executed and precise but I don't see that this is any more effective than a far simpler joint which would be easier and faster to make. This just looks like added complexity for it's own sake.
I am trying to learn woodworking; can anyone explain how did he know where to draw his lines at the very beginning of the video? Everything else I think I understand.

With what kind of wood is he working? I'm asking because I'm fed up with the rubbish they sell you in Europe….
A Japanese-style woodworking video.
This is not a traditional Japanese woodworking technique.
The ARITUGI is used incorrectly.
Beautiful skills. But I was wondering about the iCE cream truck in the background. He didn't stop?

What tipe of wood are you working with
Nice video carpinteiro work 😊

Hello @everyone
Gracias
Outstanding woodworking it would be a honor to learn this
No CNC precision cutting machines, no lasers, no microprocessors but basic tools and old school craftsmenship passed down from master to apprentice.

If I had a table with joints like that I would remove the top and show off the joints!
…so am I having a stroke or did this guy put that together and take it apart like 7 times for no reason at all?
Well executed and precise but I don't see that this is any more effective than a far simpler joint which would be easier and faster to make. This just looks like added complexity for it's own sake.
Is this joint wood work called sashimono?
So much to be said about modern tools!

The old ways are dying out, in today's world they are replaced by electric tools. It is so good that people are still about to continue the old ways.
A very skilled Artisan indeed.
