Justin LeBron Named To Golden Spikes Watch List

Superstar sophomore shortstop Justin LeBron of the Alabama Crimson Tide was named to the midseason Golden Spikes Award List. LeBron was one of 45 players nationally named to the list. The Golden Spikes is the college baseball equivalent of the Heisman Trophy, except it usually does actually go to the country’s best player. LeBron, a native of Miramar, Florida, was named an All American, Fr All American , First team All SEC, and SEC All Defensive Team as a freshman in 2024. The electric athlete played all 57 games in 2024, 56 at shortstop and one in centerfield while hitting .338 with 12 home runs, 37 RBI, with a .975 OPS and stole seven bases without being caught.

Through 30 games of the 2025 season LeBron has already topped many of those numbers. In 148 at bats he has 41 hits for a .342 average, with nine doubles (matching last years total, one triple, 13 home runs, and a nation leading 53 runs driven in. LeBron has swiped eight bases, has a .449 on base percentage, a .758 slugging percentage, and at 1.207 OPS. All while playing premium defense at the most demanding position on the field.

LeBron is consider the betting favorite for the award and is being mocked as the overall first pick in the 2026 draft. We truly are all witnesses. #TheChosenOne
