The military industrial complex needs to be demolished and a new ethics and priority and principles put in place. Lots of our fighting forces come right out of mostly more rural communities with poor education and lots of substance abuse, so they go in with no skills and frequently come out with trauma and again no job skills that are in demand. We the people could learn a lot from Ukraine if we’d humble ourselves and admit we’ve been had, and determine NO more and work together to remake this country into a new non predatory capitalism with ethical, moral leadership that is determined to help ALL the people and indeed turn us truly great for the first time!
I think any young man that wants to be in a really tough and fighting military , he or she should learn Ukrainian and go there to fight. I think they’d learn firm comradery, innovative fighting techniques, and help save a democracy!

So, the #1 takeaway is, if you have a very, very strong economy, you can pay double or triple to get the components you need, even from your enemy, for a few years. If you're not economically strong, you need to remain friends with all trade partners, which is why the EU being unfriendly to the US makes no long-term sense for the EU. If China refuses to sell critical components to the US, the US can just pay 2X the price from a "neutral" supplier, then switch to another "neutral" supplier at above market prices, so long as US is economically strong. This is why Trump wants to expand US mining, oil, nat gas, steel, crypto, aluminum, rare earth, etc. production.

Any western nation depending on Chinese manufacturing for military hardware are not in the game if China attacks Taiwan. If Covid-19 showed us all anything it is that reliance for critical components and medicines are a national security risk. Governments across the globe have to wean themselves off the Chinese cheap factor and start looking at the risks of not manufacturing these items at home! Insanity to turn all your manufacturing over to a Communist regime that is your most significant adversary in the Asia-Pacific region!
