Theoretically it should have a better performance! Because shorter pistons means shorter csmshafts, crankshaft, intake and exhaust manifolds and less weight
Since you can stack 6 pill cylinders in the same length as 4 round cylinders, it seems possible to also put an inline 6 cylinder engine in a smaller vehicles which could mean not only higher power output with more cylinders but smoother operations since inline 6 cylinder engines are inherently balanced unlike inline 4 cylinder engines.
Are there any downsides?
Honda did it first with mixed results.
Honda did it first!!!
It’s got a hemi in it bro
Got bore score?
Square pistons are the best.
Amazing how it's just simply changing a shape save so much money and metal and wait
Ducati does this on their V4
Pills here! Grabbin pills! Pills here!
Looks like a hemi
Pill shaped? More like oval shaped…
That animation with the pill cylinders clipping over each other deserves a trigger warning.
Ok, but what about the firing order, exhaust scavenging, and exhaust sound? Yes I know I’m shallow.
Little late to the party ferrari
Production v16 when
so many more downsides than upsides

….LOTS OF COOLING AND POWER TRANSFER ISSUES
…….OTHERWISE,EVERYONE WOULDVE DO that
LOL didn’t Honda do it already
That's not "stadium"… In engineering is called obround. 😂

I would love to see V12 in normal small car rather than a refrigerator with 400hp becaus its EV
Realy interesting if thay make it happen honda will look at it😂
From the moment they start to put v12s in motorcycles, i'm in!
