You'd never catch me that close to the roadside with something going that fast. One rider mistake and you're hit by a 160 kg missile that's going 300 kph. No. Thanks.
Is it really that long since no deaths? 1982?? Ffs I knew someone dies most years but didn't realise its been so regular, don't know why I'm surprised really when they only have stone walls to slow down crashes.
The saying you don't have to be crazy to do __ but it helps, to compete in the TT you do actually need to be insane and have no fear of death or spending the rest of your life in a wheelchair or in a hospital bed, I'm proud of myself when I take a bend at 70 on my scooter, and it took quite a while to get that brave and confident the bike and I could do it
First time I went my mate took me to watch at Ballacrye. First bike went past flat out about 6 feet in front of my nose, and I jerked back, much to the hilarity of most watching. Utterly incredible to witness.
Folklore says that Isle of Man is one of those places on Earth where the veil between this reality and the spirit world is the thinnest, and you can feel it when you visit. Such a hardship to get there! I guess all these guys are on a hurry to get to the other side because no sane person (read no suicidal tendencies), would do what they do. Not in that cold and fog and humidity and weirdness!

The older you get the more realistic your imagination becomes, and the more things like this make your stomach and heart just drop 🕳️
