If you admire fashion legends, then you must visit the Vivienne Westwood Café Hong Kong.

It’s a tribute to the rebellious style icon who was the very definition of punk with her bold, unorthodox style.

I’ve always looked up to her and own a few of her Heart Orbit jewellery pieces.

So, I couldn’t resist stopping by this stylish café for a themed brunch on my trip.

Here is a complete guide for visiting Hong Kong’s Vivienne Westwood Café and whether it’s worth the price tag.

Vivienne Westwood Cafe Hong Kong Worth Visiting

What is the Hong Kong Vivienne Westwood Café?

The Vivienne Westwood Café is a tribute to the legendary British designer who founded her brand in 1971.

She started making clothing for Malcolm McLaren, a famous manager and promoter of rock bands like the Sex Pistols and Adam and the Ants.

They partnered in a boutique on London’s King’s Road called ‘Let It Rock’.

Later, Vivienne opened her own boutique as a crucible for her ideas called the ‘Mud Shop’, which is now ‘Worlds End’.

Her statement designs include the Pirate and Pagan collections as well as Anglomania.

She left the world a global fashion icon in 2022, but her legacy lives on with over 100 boutiques and cafés operating worldwide.

One of my favourite musicians is Adam Ant, and she famously designed his New Romantic outfits. You can see them in the V&A Museum.

So, I’ve been a fan ever since and have always loved her signature orb collections of bags and jewellery.

If you’re also a fan of Vivienne Westwood, you have to visit this incredible memorial café in Hong Kong.

Do you need to make a reservation?

You don’t need a reservation to book the Vivienne Westwood Café; they do take walk-ins on the day.

But it is highly recommended to book a table in advance online to avoid disappointment.

This is especially important during busier periods like weekends and late afternoons/evenings.

If you are hoping for a table without a booking, I recommend getting there around opening time as it’s the quietest time of the day.

How to get to Hong Kong’s Vivienne Westwood Café

You’ll find the Vivienne Westwood Café hidden away in the Fashion Walk area of Causeway Bay on Hong Kong Island.

The easiest way to explore the city is to take the subway, and the closest metro station is ‘Causeway Bay MTR Station’.

Take Exit D2, and then you’ll find the boutique by walking to Paterson Street.

Alternatively, you can take the Ding Ding Tram to Causeway Bay on Hennessy Road. It’s a historic and scenic way to get around.

Arriving at the Vivienne Westwood Boutique

As soon as you arrive at the Vivienne Westwood store on Paterson Street, you’ll find the gleaming gold emblem out front.

You can then explore the boutique filled with iconic designer pieces, with jewellery, clothes and bags.

The Vivienne Westwood Café can be found on the second floor.

Once you arrive, you’ll be greeted by one of the kind servers who will show you to your table.

Inside the Vivienne Westwood Café

The interiors of the Vivienne Westwood Café are elegant but have a rebellious and bold edge to honour her unique fashion aesthetic.

All the tables have been decorated with tartan china teapots, cups, sugar bowls and plates with the orb logo.

There is an area inspired by the catwalk and backstage of fashion shows, and a large display of tartan orb caddies.

I sat in the stunning room with images from the Wallace Collection; this was her favourite museum in London.

You’ll also find The World’s End clock with 13 hours and hands spinning anti-clockwise. This is to honour Vivienne’s first boutique;

“I have a kind of in-built clock which always reacts against anything orthodox.” – Vivienne Westwood.

What’s on the menu?

The Vivienne Westwood Café is a great place to indulge in coffee, cocktails or dessert.

But it also has a surprisingly large menu of delicious savoury meals for lunch or dinner.

There is an entire range of green salads, light soups, and creamy pasta. As well as main meals of steak, salmon and lobster.

As it’s a British-inspired menu, you’ll find classics like fish and chips, shepherd’s pie, and bangers and mash.

You can even order a Vivienne Westwood afternoon tea on a golden orb caddy. This is filled with traditional English delights with a stylish twist!

Signature Orb Waffles

I already knew what I was going to order long before I booked my table: the Signature Orb Waffles with Fried Chicken.

The Vivienne Westwood Orb has always been my favourite of her designs, and being able to order it in food form was something I couldn’t miss.

The dish is served with two large orb-shaped waffles that are sprinkled with icing sugar.

It also came with crispy fried chicken on a bed of fresh salad. There was even a little pot of syrup to slather on.

Not only did it look delectable, but it tasted incredible too. It was one of the best meals I had in Hong Kong. I still dream about those tasty waffles.

Vivienne Westwood Bear Chocolate Drink

Another signature item you can’t miss in the Vivienne Westwood Café is the set of bear chocolate drinks.

These premium beverages are served with a healthy dose of whipped cream and fruit pieces along with a chocolate teddy bear perched on top.

You can get them in a variety of flavours. I ordered a strawberry drink with a milk chocolate teddy. It was adorable.

Scottish Tartan Latte

Another speciality in the Vivienne Westwood Café is their selection of Scottish Tartan Lattes.

You can order Boudoir (rose), Witches (violet) or Yasmine (jasmine), and these are served in a tartan cup with an orb sprinkled on the foam.

You can also try their Signature Orb Cold Brew Coffee with an orb-shaped ice cube.

On my visit, I ordered the rose-flavoured ‘Boudoir’ latte as they had an offer to advertise their new perfume.

With every purchase, you got a free perfume sample and a discount voucher.

I didn’t think much of the scent, but the latte was delicious. It was served in a waffle cone with pink whipped cream and rose petals on top.

Is the Vivienne Westwood Café worth visiting?

Yes, I thought that the Vivienne Westwood Café was an enchanting tribute to this legendary British designer.

Not only were the aesthetics on point, but the enormous menu was filled with delicious meals and an electric range of creative drinks.

The Signature Orb Waffles were mouthwatering and something I still dream about. I would go back and order it again in a heartbeat.

The service was also incredibly kind, patient and welcoming, which is a rarity in this city.

Don’t skip Hong Kong’s Vivienne Westwood Café; it’s a whimsical restaurant you won’t regret visiting.

What is the Vivienne Westwood Café dress code?

Fortunately, the Vivienne Westwood Café is a casual affair in Hong Kong. So, you don’t have to wear anything specific to dine there.

I was thankful as I didn’t pack any fancy clothes or shoes in my suitcase.

Vivienne never stood on ceremony herself. So, just wear something that will make you feel comfortable during your visit.

But nothing is stopping you from dressing up and wearing a few pieces from her collections. You do you, boo!

Macau Vivienne Westwood Café

I loved the Vivienne Westwood Café in Hong Kong so much that I visited the one in Macau as well.

You’ll find the Macau branch located within the Grand Lisboa Palace on the Cotai Strip.

Once again, I treated myself to their signature Orb waffles and washed them down with one of their chocolate teddy bear drinks.

The food was delectable, the service impeccable, and the interiors were aesthetically pleasing. What more could you ask for?
