Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti (EKSU) has announced the screening of Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) candidates for the 2026/2027 admission exercise.

The Post-UTME screening exercise will commence on Friday, 3 July 2026 and there will be no examination.

Who Can Apply for EKSU Post-UTME Screening?

UTME candidates who chose EKSU and met the required score for their chosen course can apply for the screening exercise.

The university will also consider UTME candidates who did not choose EKSU at first, provided they scored 150 and above in the 2026 UTME and are ready to change their first choice to EKSU on JAMB CAPS.

Candidates with awaiting Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination results should not apply yet.

They are expected to apply as soon as their results are released.

What Is the EKSU General Cut-Off Mark?

EKSU has placed the general minimum UTME score at 150 for the 2026/2027 admission screening exercise.

Some courses have higher minimum scores and candidates who fall below the stated score for those courses may apply for another course of their choice and effect the change on JAMB CAPS.

What Are the EKSU Course Cut-Off Marks?

The university has listed higher minimum UTME scores for some courses, as shown below.

Computer Science 180
Engineering Programmes 180
Medical Biochemistry 180
Mass Communication 200
Medical Laboratory Science 220
Nursing Science 230
Pharmacy 240
Law 250
Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) 260

Candidates with lower scores for any of these courses may choose other courses and update the change on JAMB CAPS, so that they can be considered for admission under the right programme.

Will EKSU Accept Candidates from Pre-Degree and JUPEB?

EKSU will give concessions to successful students from its Pre-Degree and JUPEB programmes, in line with Senate approval.

The university accepts JUPEB with a minimum of 7 points for admission, but it does not accept IJMB.

What O’Level Results Are Required for EKSU Admission?

EKSU will admit only candidates who have at least five credit passes in WAEC, NECO or NABTEB in relevant subjects and the results must be from not more than two sittings.

Candidates will be required to upload their O’Level result details during the application process.

What Are the Direct Entry Requirements?

Direct Entry candidates must meet the entry conditions that apply to their intended course.

For Engineering programmes, DE candidates must have a minimum of Upper Credit from a Polytechnic.

For other programmes, a minimum of Lower Credit is required.

For MBBS and Law, DE candidates must have at least Second Class Lower Division in related programmes.

For Nursing Science, the candidate must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria as a Registered Nurse (RN).

For Education programmes, NCE with Credit or Merit in relevant teaching subjects is required.

Can Direct Entry Candidates Change Their First Choice to EKSU?

Yes, Direct Entry candidates who are interested in changing their first choice to EKSU may be considered.

Such candidates should ensure that their records are correct and that their transcripts are sent as required.

When Is the EKSU Direct Entry Transcript Deadline?

Direct Entry candidates should send their transcripts to [email protected] on or before 31 October 2026.

Applications from DE candidates whose transcripts are not received by the deadline will not be considered for admission.

How Can Candidates Apply for EKSU Post-UTME/DE Screening?

Candidates should apply through the EKSU online admission portal.

The application process is as follows:

  1. Visit the EKSU portal and click on “ADMISSION”.
  2. Create an account with the required details.
  3. Use an active email address and personal phone number.
  4. Check the email address for the verification message.
  5. Log in to the dashboard with the correct email address or JAMB registration number as username.
  6. Enter the password created during sign-up.
  7. Select “2026/2027 PUTME application” on the dashboard.
  8. Enter the JAMB registration number where required.
  9. Pay for the PUTME screening form through the online payment page.
  10. Upload a 1″ x 1″ coloured passport photograph with red background in JPEG format only.
  11. Upload O’Level result details from WASC, SSCE, NECO or NABTEB, with not more than two sittings.
  12. Preview the form, confirm the entries, submit and print the completed screening form.

Candidates who chose EKSU will have their information populated automatically, while those who did not choose EKSU as first choice will need to fill in their correct details, starting with their JAMB registration number.

What Should NECO Candidates Do About Result Verification?

UTME candidates with NECO results should submit their “Result Verification Tokens” at the Admissions Office for verification of their O’Level results.

Candidates who do not have result verification tokens should visit the NECO result verification portal and enter [email protected] at the email field provided.

What Can Lead to Disqualification?

Any false information uploaded by a candidate will lead to automatic disqualification.

A candidate who fails to take part in the screening exercise will not be considered for admission into the university.
