DoorDash has opened its first India office in HITEC City, Hyderabad, marking the company’s entry into the country. The American food delivery and local commerce company will begin operations with 500 employees.
Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu inaugurated the facility. DoorDash plans to grow its Hyderabad workforce to more than 3,000 employees within the next two years.
The Hyderabad centre will handle Customer Experience and Integrity (CXI) and General and Administrative (G&A) work. These teams will support DoorDash’s more than 56 million monthly active users across over 40 countries.
At the inauguration, Sridhar Babu said Hyderabad is home to about 500 Global Capability Centres (GCCs). He said the state plans to add 100 more GCCs by 2029.
The minister said the planned GCC expansion is expected to create more than 1 million job opportunities by 2029.
