Ubisoft has announced the full details of The Division 2: Echoes of Central Park, an upcoming expansion that will take players into Central Park and the Upper West Side for the first time. The DLC is scheduled to launch on November 3, 2026, for PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
Central Park has been referenced throughout The Division series, but the heavily sealed-off area has never been available for exploration. Echoes of Central Park will finally change that, introducing a new campaign, characters, enemies and endgame content.
A darker story for The Division 2
Ubisoft is taking the series in a darker direction with Echoes of Central Park. The expansion follows a rescue mission involving a survivor named Miranda. The operation takes an unexpected turn when Division agents discover an unknown threat hiding inside the park.
The developers have described the expansion as the most horror-focused story in the franchise so far. While the DLC introduces a more unsettling atmosphere, its events will remain connected to the established lore of The Division universe.
Players will also meet and recruit new companions while exploring the Upper West Side. Each companion comes with unique abilities, and their skills can be used in the main game after they are unlocked.
A larger map and new endgame activity
Echoes of Central Park will introduce a map that is roughly twice the size of the one featured in the previous Battle for Brooklyn DLC. The larger area will give players new locations to explore, activities to complete and areas to clear.
After completing the main campaign, players can return to Central Park for a new endgame activity focused on risk and reward. The mode features an escalating challenge system in which staying in the area longer increases the danger while also improving potential rewards.
The activity eventually leads to encounters with new world bosses that Ubisoft describes as “apex predators.”
Crossplay and a free weekend
Ubisoft has also confirmed several features arriving around the DLC’s release. New players will be able to access the expansion with the game’s level 40 boost, allowing them to bypass much of the early progression and begin the new content.
Crossplay is also coming to The Division 2 shortly after the expansion launches. The feature will allow players on PlayStation, Xbox and PC to play together.
Before the DLC arrives, Ubisoft is offering a free weekend from September 24 to 28 across all platforms. Progress made during the trial can be carried over to the full game.
The Division series is also included in Ubisoft’s 40th anniversary sale, with discounts of up to 90 percent on the base game.
