Hello Doc, i had Microfracture Chondroplasty to grow artificial cartilage in my right tibia, a bone piece grafted from pelvic bone to lengthen fibula. After 5 years, I’m still having pain if i walk some what than usual. The somewhat i meant is walking in side home for regular needs. Is there a hope for me like this or a cartilage injection?
Question. I had this procedure done. I wore the external fixator for 3 months. And it has been 4 months since they removed it. But I’m still having pain. How long after the removal does the pain go away?

Can you move your ankle in the mean time?
do you conduct bone stimulation in order for fibrocartilage to grow so when able to walk again the joint is protected by cartilage?

How long do you have to be no weight bearing? How long does it take to heal?
