
Williamnagar, Dec 13: The 5th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the NHM Employees Association of Meghalaya (NEAM) was held at the Williamnagar District Auditorium on 12th December, drawing participation from NHM employees across the state.
The programme began with a welcome address by Dr. Kalseng D. Momin, President of NEAM, who expressed gratitude to all the members for their dedication and for travelling from various districts to attend the meeting.
The Chairman of the Williamnagar Municipality Board, Benedict K. Sangma, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his speech, he conveyed warm greetings on behalf of the local MLA and Cabinet Minister, Marcuise N. Marak.
Benedict K. Sangma congratulated the association for its achievements and acknowledged the vital role played by NHM employees in strengthening the health sector. He noted that despite numerous challenges, the workforce has consistently demonstrated commitment and resilience.
He highlighted that the tireless efforts of NHM workers have contributed significantly to the decline in mortality rates in the state and to the improvement of maternal and child health indicators. He extended heartfelt appreciation to all NHM staff for their dedicated service to the people of Meghalaya.
To add colour to the event, several song and dance performances were presented by NHM members, creating a lively and joyful atmosphere. The NEAM Calendar 2026 was also officially launched by the Chief Guest, Benedict K. Sangma.
