Spanish giants Barcelona are reportedly considering other defensive options after concerns emerged over a possible move for Alessandro Bastoni.
The Catalan side had identified Bastoni as a preferred target in their search for a left-footed central defender, but reports suggest manager Hansi Flick is uncertain about the player’s suitability for his tactical system.

Flick is believed to have concerns over whether the Inter Milan defender possesses the pace and aggressive style required to fit into Barcelona’s high defensive line.
As a result, Barcelona sporting director Deco has reportedly turned attention toward Jakub Kiwior as an alternative option.

The Polish defender has enjoyed an impressive period with Porto after overcoming a difficult spell at Arsenal, where he struggled for regular playing time.
Kiwior became an important part of Porto’s defensive setup and played a key role in the club’s successful league campaign, helping the side maintain one of the strongest defensive records in the competition.
Barcelona are also reportedly balancing their transfer priorities, with the club expected to reserve significant financial resources for strengthening their attacking options following Robert Lewandowski’s expected departure.
However, any move for Kiwior may prove difficult after Porto recently completed his permanent signing and secured him on a long-term deal that reportedly includes a substantial release clause.
