And, I think my very favorite aspect of you two is the frequency with which David makes you laugh with genuine glee and right out loud. Being amused has been very difficult since the idiot crossed the threshold of the White House for the second round. He, then, began tearing it down, adding his tasteless golden gee-gaws, and making sure his name was all over Washington like a dog marking territory. How did he manage to assemble, possibly, the largest gathering of dislikable, incompetent, and crooked buffoons, to ever occupy one room by purposeful design, as his cabinet? Why is it assumed that these people won’t lie under oath when most of what comes out of their mouths on a daily basis is not true? Plus they are all committing criminal and unethical acts routinely.
There was an election in Mexico in the eighties when my boss Cuauhtémoc Cárdenas, the governor of Michoacán had won by a large margin. There was pressure put on Mexico (By the US?) and Salinas de Gortari, the PRI candidate (a Vance-like guy with no personality) entered the presidency for another 6 years of PRI corruption and grift. I left the country. Your comments about Trumpy people trying to rig elections brings me back nightmarish memories.
On the "he has to lose by a lot" point, it's even more true because there will absolutely be efforts to get people to not vote at all, such as the mentioned possibility of the military in cities, ICE agents harassing voters, possibly arresting people on the alleged suspicion that they're paperless, and thus stopping them from voting, traditional suppression efforts such as closing down polling locations, unregistering voters and so on. So we need to have people be serious about voting so they actually make sure that they're registered, that they can physically get to the polling location and potentially wait for a long time and so on.
